Ultimate Golden Dragon Inferno – Hold & Win OverviewUltimate Golden Dragon Inferno – Hold & Win is a five-reel, three-row slot from Betsoft with 243 ways to win, an RTP of 96.58%, a medium-high volatility rating and a maximum win of 2,497x. It was released on 18 November 2024. It belongs to Betsoft’s Golden Dragon Inferno series, and its centrepiece is a Hold & Win round played not on one grid but on four, three of which have to be unlocked. Above the reels sits a ladder of six fixed jackpots, the largest worth 2,000 times the stake. All figures below were read from demo play at a stake of 10.00. Red Lacquer and GoldThe reels are set in a red lacquered frame with gold dragon carvings climbing its sides, against a wall of red patterned silk. A glossy red and gold treasure urn sits at the top centre, between the two halves of the jackpot bar. The premium symbols are gold ornaments: a smiling laughing Buddha on green, a heap of gold ingots on orange, a gold turtle on purple and a leaping golden koi on blue. The low symbols are the letters A, K, Q and J in bold colours. Winning symbols light up in bright tiles while the rest of the reels dim, and the win amount floats in large gold numerals over the grid. A banner under the reels reminds you of the 243 ways on every spin. The PaytableAt a 10.00 stake the table reads, for five, four and three of a kind: Buddha and gold ingots 4.00, 3.60 and 3.20; turtle and koi 3.60, 3.20 and 2.80; A and K 3.20, 2.80 and 2.00. The two lowest letters are the only symbols that pay for a pair. Q pays 2.00, 1.20, 0.80 and 0.40 for five, four, three and two, and J pays 1.60, 1.20, 0.80 and 0.40. These are values per way, and that is the key to reading them. A five-of-a-kind Buddha is worth only 0.4 times the stake on a single way, but when symbols stack on the reels, every extra matching position multiplies the number of ways that pay. Ways Do the Heavy LiftingOur session shows the effect clearly. A block of gold ingots covering the first four reels paid 32.40, a spread of golden koi paid 16.80, and a second, wider koi hit across all five reels paid 57.60. The best base-game result came from the letter A. With the A stacked across almost the whole screen, a single spin paid 172.80 – more than 17 times the stake from a symbol whose five-of-a-kind value is 3.20. At 3.20 per way, that is 54 separate paying ways. Wilds make the counting richer still. In one capture a WILD expanded to fill the whole of reel three and carried an x8 multiplier, turning a modest combination into 96.00. Six Fixed JackpotsThe jackpot bar above the reels lists six prizes. At a 10.00 stake they read: MINI 150.00, MINOR 300.00, MAJOR 400.00, MAXI 1,000.00, SUPER 4,000.00 and GRAND 20,000.00. In multiples of the stake that is 15x, 30x, 40x, 100x, 400x and 2,000x. The values did not move between our captures, so these are fixed prizes that scale with the bet rather than progressive pools. The GRAND on its own accounts for most of the published 2,497x ceiling. The remainder would have to come from the cash values collected alongside it in the same round. The Hold & Win RoundThe round starts when six or more fiery bonus symbols land together. In our trigger six of them appeared across the reels carrying values of 10.00, 30.00 and 100.00, and the message bar announced “Hold & Win feature triggered!” What follows is the game’s signature. The screen splits into four grids of five by three, arranged two above two. The bottom left grid is where the bonus symbols are held, and the other three begin locked. Each locked grid shows its own unlock condition. In our capture the top left grid read “1 or more to unlock” and the top right “16 or more to unlock”, while the bottom right grid had already opened and was spinning its own symbols. A counter under the grids tracks the remaining respins with three markers, 1 2 3. By the time of that capture the bottom left grid was almost entirely covered in fireballs, with only a handful of empty positions left, while the newly opened bottom right grid had caught its first three. The message bar read “Hold & Win feature in play!” throughout the round. The fireball values we saw ranged from 10.00 to 100.00, which is one to ten times the stake, with 30.00, 40.00, 60.00 and 80.00 in between. Buying the FeatureThe Buy Feature panel offers to “purchase 6+ bonus symbols now to start Hold & Win feature game”. At a 10.00 stake the price is 800.00, which is 80 times the bet. That price sits well below the GRAND’s 2,000x, so the buy gives direct access to the part of the game where the big prizes live. It is still a substantial outlay compared with the base-game wins we recorded, which stayed under 20 times the stake. Other FeaturesThe slot’s published feature list also includes a nudge feature and mystery symbols. Neither appeared during our session, so we cannot say how they behave in practice, and we have not described them here. Who Should Play ItUltimate Golden Dragon Inferno suits players who like Hold & Win games and want more room to build in the bonus round. The four-grid layout, with grids unlocked by the number of symbols collected, gives the feature a sense of progress that a single grid lacks. The base game is modest by comparison: small per-way values that rely on stacked symbols and occasional multiplier wilds. The six fixed jackpots and the 80x buy make it clear where the game expects the excitement to come from.
