Midnight Romance Overview

Midnight Romance is a jazz-bar slot from Red Tiger, released on 11 April 2024. Five reels and three rows sit inside the body of a grand piano, with 20 paylines, neon cocktail signs above the reels and a lounge full of music notes behind them. Red Tiger lists a theoretical RTP of 95.71% (SlotCatalog shows 95.68% and notes that the game comes in several RTP versions), the volatility is high, and the maximum win is 19,894x the stake. Bets run from 0.10 to 50.

The Pretty Woman and the Three Men

The story of the game is a romance in a piano bar. The Pretty Woman is a steady wild in the lit frame at the centre of the reels, and everything turns on who lands next to her. Three men compete for her attention, and each one brings his own feature when he lands to her left or right with no rival on the other side:

  • Sportsman: all Sportsman symbols on the reels turn wild, and if he lands in the middle frame he clones himself vertically.
  • Businessman: all Businessman symbols become wilds with a x3 multiplier on every winning line they join.
  • Musician: all Musician symbols turn wild, and if there is no win, the wilds are held and the game respins with a guaranteed new wild until a win comes.

If a man lands on both sides of her at once, the evening moves on to the free spins.

Shakers and the Neon Promotions

Above the reels, two neon signs change on every spin. The left one shows the Cocktail Promotion – a short glass or a tall one – and the right one the Multiplier Promotion: x1, x2, x3, x5 or x10. When a Shaker scatter lands, it takes on the current promotion. A short cocktail turns it into a single wild; a tall cocktail turns it into a 1x3 Super Wild that covers the whole reel. If the multiplier sign shows more than x1, the new cocktail wild carries that multiplier on every line it joins.

One of our base-game spins shows exactly this: the tall glass and x2 were lit above the reels, a full-height martini wild marked x2 WILD dropped onto the fourth reel, and the spin paid £5.00 on a £1 stake.

How the Multipliers Combine

Red Tiger’s rules are precise here. If several cocktail wilds with multipliers are in one win, only one of their multipliers counts. But if a Businessman wild (x3) and a Cocktail wild with a multiplier contribute to the same win, the two multipliers are multiplied together – a x3 Businessman with a x10 cocktail makes a single line worth thirty times its base value. That combination is where the 19,894x ceiling comes from.

Free Spins

Landing two men on either side of the Pretty Woman awards 10 free spins, and our screenshots show the full-screen neon announcement. Another pair of men landing around the middle frame during the round adds 10 more. Throughout the free spins the Cocktail Promotion is fixed on the tall glass, so every Shaker that lands becomes a reel-covering Super Wild.

In our round, the first reel filled with a martini Super Wild and the spin paid £34.40 across a web of lines; another spin with the Businessman wilds showing their small x3 badges paid £13.50. Another base-game spin in our set, with a man in the frames on each side of her, paid £3.50.

Feature Buy

The feature-buy menu offers three options, priced as multiples of the stake:

  • Shaker Wild: 4x – at least one Shaker in the spin, turned into a short or tall cocktail
  • Romance: 10x – a man guaranteed next to the Pretty Woman, with his feature
  • Free Spins: 50x – men on both sides and straight into the bonus

Our screenshot confirms the top price: the Free Spins option showed £50.00 at a £1.00 stake.

Graphics and Sound

The whole game is set on the lid of a lacquered piano, its keys running along the bottom of the reels. The symbols are metallic letters and lounge props – a microphone, a lipstick, a compact mirror, a treble clef – while the four characters are painted portraits: the dark-haired woman with her wine glass, the sportsman, the businessman in glasses and the musician in a bow tie. Neon purple and green light the bar in the background.

Who It Is For

Midnight Romance suits players who like a slot with a small cast and clear rules: whoever lands next to the woman decides what happens. The three buy options at 4x, 10x and 50x let you pick how much of the game to skip, and the stacked x3 and cocktail multipliers give the high-volatility maths its long tail. All six casinos we checked carry it.
