Super 50 Stars Overview

Super 50 Stars is a classic-style slot from Red Rake Gaming, released on 25 July 2024. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 30 paylines, and it dresses the old fruit-machine set of sevens, bars, bells and cherries in bright purple and gold, with a bonus wheel, star symbols and a jackpot panel on top.

A Casino Cabinet in Purple and Gold

The reels sit inside a gold cabinet with star-studded pillars on both sides and a row of silver stars along the bottom edge. Behind the machine you can make out the blurred lights of a casino floor. Winning symbols light up and the lines are drawn across the screen in bright colours, so it is always clear which combination paid.

Two plaques above the reels carry the jackpot figures: FUSION GRAND and GOLD GRAND. At our $18 stake the Gold Grand read 2,700 – that is 150x the bet – and the Fusion Grand plaque showed the figure 4 throughout the session.

The Paytable

The paytable shows cash values for the current stake, and at $18 the Wild is the top symbol: five pay $600 (33.3x), four pay $120 and three pay $18. The sevens come in several versions. Three flaming triple sevens pay $300 for five, the double seven $150 and the single seven $120, while any mix of sevens still pays $36 for five.

The bars follow the same pattern on a smaller scale: the 5 BAR pays $60, $24 and $6 for five, four and three, and the plain BAR $30, $12 and $3. The bells and cherries also pay $30, $12 and $3, and there is a separate prize for any mix of bars.

The rules are those of a classic slot: all combinations pay from left to right on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel, and if one line holds more than one win, only the highest is paid. The Wild substitutes for the regular symbols but not for the special ones, such as the SPIN symbol and the star symbols.

How Line Wins Build Up

With 30 lines on a 5x3 grid, a single stack of sevens can feed several lines at once. On one of our spins, flaming sevens landed on four reels and the lines crossed them in a zigzag pattern; the spin paid $36.13 – about 2x the bet – from a set of small seven wins.

Bells and cherries are the common symbols, and they often land in whole rows. A row of four bells with a Wild on reel 5 was part of the spin that paid $81.00, which we describe below.

The Super Star Symbols

The game’s name comes from its star symbols. A large SUPER 25 star can land on the middle reel carrying a cash value; on one of our spins it showed 30.00, and together with the bells, cherries and a Wild the spin paid $81.00 – 4.5x the bet. On the same spin the reels were filled with oversized cherry and bell frames, which fits the mega symbols that SlotCatalog lists among the features.

A second kind of star, marked SUPER STARS, pays in any position. On another spin three of them landed on reels 2, 3 and 4, and the game paid $90.00 – 5x the bet – even though no line symbols lined up.

The Spin Symbol and the Bonus Wheel

The SPIN symbol is the key to the bonus wheel. When three of them landed on reels 1, 3 and 5, together with a Super 5 Stars symbol on reel 2, the screen switched to a large wheel of fortune set in a gold frame. Its segments are painted in bright colours, each carrying a number, and the pointer at the top decides the prize.

SlotCatalog lists a bonus wheel and free spins with a multiplier among the features. In our captures a ladder of multipliers appeared on the side of the reels, running from x4 through x6, x8, x10, x12, x16 and x25 up to x50, with blue sevens on the reels and the stars along the bottom edge lit up. We did not see the round from start to finish, so we describe the ladder as it appeared rather than give a rule for it.

A Second Multiplier Column

On the spins with the Super 25 star, a smaller column on the left side of the reels showed multipliers from x1 up to x5. The game does not label it in our captures, but together with the larger ladder it shows how Red Rake layers several multiplier elements on top of a classic line game.

What the Session Did

Over the session the balance moved between $717.40 and $938.20 on the $18 stake. The line wins were mostly small, the star and SPIN symbols added the bigger moments, and the two best results in our captures were the $90.00 Super Stars prize and the $81.00 spin with the Super 25 star.

The Numbers to Keep in Mind

A 95.4% return is a little below the market average, and the 1,153x ceiling is moderate. With medium volatility and a top line prize of 33.3x for five Wilds, the game is built around frequent small wins, with the bonus wheel and the stars as its sources of larger payouts.
