Penalty Boost Overview

Penalty Boost is a football-themed instant game from Platipus, released on 14 May 2026. There are no reels: you take penalty kicks against a goalkeeper, and every goal moves you one step up a multiplier ladder. You can cash out after any goal, or keep shooting for a bigger multiplier and risk losing the stake on a save.

SlotCatalog lists the game with an RTP of 96%, adjustable risk, a maximum win of 10,000x and bets from $0.20 to $50, and files it under crash-style mechanics. The numbers below come from our own demo session, played at a $50 bet on the Easy level.

A Street Pitch at Sunset

The game is set on a small street pitch in front of colourful apartment blocks, with palm trees, graffiti on the back wall and a sports bag and traffic cone next to the goal. The goalkeeper is a burly cartoon figure in gloves, shorts and a shirt printed with the name of the current difficulty – EASY in our session.

The ball sits on the penalty spot at the bottom of the screen, and above the crossbar a progress bar shows the multipliers you can reach, with a small football marking your current position.

How a Round Works

Before the first kick you set the stake with the BET arrows and choose the difficulty with the arrows next to it. Then you pick where to shoot: the goal is covered by a grid of round target markers, and a crosshair shows the spot you have chosen. The goalkeeper dives, and the round is decided by whether he reaches the ball.

A goal moves the marker one step along the bar and updates the CASHOUT button, which always shows what you would collect if you stopped now. A save ends the round and the stake is lost.

The Easy Ladder

On the Easy level the bar read x1.3, x1.63, x2.05, x2.58 and x3.24 for the first five goals. The steps are small at the start and grow gradually, which is typical for this kind of game: every extra kick adds a little more to the multiplier and a little more risk.

The published 10,000x maximum is far above anything the Easy ladder shows, so it can only come from the harder levels, where the goalkeeper saves more often and each goal is worth more. We did not play the harder levels, so we cannot confirm their ladders.

Our Session

We started with a balance of $10,000 and a $50 bet. After the first goal the cashout button showed $65 – exactly 1.3x the stake. We kept shooting, and after the third goal the marker stood on x2.05 and the button showed $102.50.

We took the money at that point, and the game confirmed it with a YOU WON $102.5 banner above the goal – a profit of $52.50 on a single round, or 2.05x the bet.

Cash Out or Keep Shooting

The whole game comes down to one decision, repeated after every goal: take the current multiplier or risk it for the next step. Because the ladder is shown on screen from the start, you always know what the next goal is worth, and you can set a personal target before the round begins.

An AUTOPLAY button is also available, which is useful if you prefer to play the same number of kicks every round rather than decide each time.

Who Should Play It

Penalty Boost suits players who like short, simple rounds and prefer making their own decisions to watching reels spin. The Easy level offers small, frequent steps, while the higher levels are where the big multipliers are found.
