Legacy of Athena Overview

Legacy of Athena is a Greek mythology slot from Red Rake Gaming. It plays on a 6x5 grid with no paylines at all: symbols pay anywhere on the screen once seven or more of the same kind land, and the winning symbols then clear to make room for new ones. A Temple Among the Cherry Trees

The grid sits in a frame of deep red marble between two groups of white columns, with pink cherry blossom spilling over the edges and a blue Aegean sky behind. Athena herself stands to the right of the reels in a white robe and golden armour, holding her spear and shield.

The symbols follow the goddess’s world: a Spartan helmet, an owl, the scales of justice and an olive tree make up the premium set, and five cut gems in red, purple, blue, green and yellow fill the lower tiers. The BONUS symbol shows Athena’s portrait with the word written across it.

Below it the 12+ values step down evenly: the owl $60 (4x), the scales $48, the olive tree $42, the red gem $36, the purple gem $30, the blue gem $24, the green gem $18 and the yellow gem $12. The table itself states the rule: “A scatter win will be awarded if 7 or more symbols of the same type appear in any position on the reels.”

Wins in Any Position

Because position does not matter, the game is about counts. In our first capture at a $25 bet, eight yellow gems and a handful of purple ones spread across all six reels, and the tumbling sequence added up to $16.48. A second capture showed 15.00 over a spread of yellow gems while the win counter for that sequence read $7.84.

The table scales with the stake, which makes it easy to check. At $25 the 10–11 band for the olive tree works out to $26.25, and that is exactly what the game paid when ten trees landed together on reels 3 to 6.

That olive-tree cluster was the best base-game hit we saw; the win counter for the whole cascade stood at $13.39 at the moment of the capture, because the counter and the cluster label are updated at different points of the tumble. After each win the paid symbols vanish, new ones drop in, and a fresh count is made – SlotCatalog lists this as cascading reels.

Multipliers and Free Spins

Three BONUS symbols trigger the feature. In our session they landed on a diagonal across the first three reels and the game announced 10 free spins. During the round a track above the reels collects symbols and shows prizes marked x2, x3 and x10, together with extra free spins; an X2 symbol also appeared directly on the reels.
