How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Break the Bank is a money-themed video slot from KA Gaming, released on 14 September 2026. It plays on a 5x5 grid where wins are made by groups of matching symbols that touch each other, and it adds Wilds with random multipliers and a free spins round in which those Wilds stay locked in place. The scenery is a sunny sky full of floating gold coins, with stacks of banknotes and heaps of treasure on the left and a laughing golden piggy bank on the right of the board.

Gold, Cash And A Piggy Bank

The grid is framed in dark red and gold, like a vault door, and the symbols follow the same theme. The premium icons are a jewelled crown, a blue diamond, a stack of gold bars, a bundle of banknotes and a gold coin with a lion face, followed by the card values A, K, Q, J and 10 in glossy, coloured letters. A wooden auction hammer is the Scatter, and the Wild is a pile of coins marked with a multiplier. Everything shines, and winning groups are outlined in pink while the prize flashes in large golden numbers over the board.

Groups Instead Of Paylines

There are no paylines in this game. A win needs 5 or more matching symbols that touch each other vertically or horizontally, and the larger the group, the higher the prize. The rules page shows the idea with a small grid: a connected shape counts, but pieces that are split apart do not. The paytable has a separate line for every size from 5 to 13 and above, and at a $0.20 bet it ranges widely:

  • the crown pays $1.20 for 5 symbols and up to $5.00 for 13 or more;
  • the diamond pays $0.80 for 5 and $4.00 for 13 or more;
  • gold bars pay $0.60 for 5 and $3.00 for 13 or more;
  • the banknotes pay $0.40 for 5 and $2.50 for 13 or more;
  • the card values start at $0.08 for 5 of a kind and reach $1.50 for 13 or more of the Ace.

In the demo the wins were modest and not frequent: single groups paying $0.18, $0.28 and $0.39 on the lowest stake, with long dry stretches between them. That fits a game with a large grid, where a small group needs the right neighbours to appear next to each other.

The Coin Pile Wild

The Wild substitutes for all symbols except the Scatter, and in the base game it may reveal a random multiplier of 2x, 3x or 5x. If a winning group contains more than one Wild, their multipliers are added together before they are applied. A group of 5 crowns worth $1.20 that includes a 3x Wild becomes $3.60, and with two Wilds showing 3x and 5x it would pay 8x. A multiplier is visible as a golden badge on the Wild, and in the demo an x3 Wild with a golden badge appeared on the very first screen, which shows how the multiplier looks in practice.

Hammer Time And Free Spins

The Scatter is the auction hammer. Landing 3 or more of them anywhere on the grid awards 10 free spins, and the Scatters also pay on their own: $0.40 for three, $1.00 for four and $4.00 for five at a $0.20 bet, which is 2x, 5x and 20x the bet. The free game uses the same bet as the spin that triggered it, and it cannot be retriggered during the round.

Locked Wilds And The Multiplier Pool

The free spins have a feature that changes the pace of the game. During the round, any Wilds that appear stay locked in their positions until the free game ends, and the locked Wilds keep their multipliers and contribute to every later winning group. The number of Scatters that triggered the round determines the pool of multipliers that Wilds can carry:

  • with 3 Scatters the Wild multipliers are 2x, 3x or 5x;
  • with 4 Scatters they are 2x, 5x or 10x;
  • with 5 Scatters they rise to 10x, 15x or 25x.

A round with 5 Scatters is the one to look out for, because every locked Wild can then raise a group by 10x or more, and several of them in the same group add together. As the Wilds pile up over ten spins, the later spins can become much stronger than the early ones.

Reading The Big Grid

With 25 positions on every spin, the screen is busy, and it helps to know what to watch. Start with the top-paying symbols, the crown and the diamond, because a small group of them is worth more than a large group of cards. Then look for the coin Wild, which can join two separate groups into one bigger group by sitting between them, and check for hammers on the reels, since two of them already make the next spin interesting.

Because every group needs at least five symbols, the payout rises sharply with group size: the crown goes from $1.20 for five to $5.00 for thirteen or more, and the lower symbols follow the same ladder in smaller amounts. A multiplier Wild inside a big group of top symbols is the combination that the game is built around.

Bets And Controls

The bet menu opens as a table of 15 stakes from $0.20 to $300.00, with plus and minus buttons at the top. At the bottom you find the win meter, the total bet with the New Bet and Max Bet buttons, the round spin button, which opens autoplay if you hold it, and the balance. The “i” button opens the game rules, where the hammer buttons on the left and right turn the pages. There is no Buy Feature and no bonus bet, so the free spins have to be earned the normal way.

RTP And Missing Figures

KA Gaming lets each casino choose the RTP of this game from levels between 82% and 98%, and our data box shows 96%, so check the rules at the casino you play at. The provider does not publish a volatility rating or a maximum win for this title, so those fields are left empty rather than guessed.

Who It Could Suit

If you enjoy groups and cascading symbols more than paylines, Break the Bank is easy to understand and has a clear target: a round with several multiplier Wilds locked on the grid. The base game is a quiet stretch with occasional small wins, so it suits patient players. Try the free demo on the left and see how the Wild multipliers behave before choosing a stake.
