Texas Hold’em Overview

Texas Hold’em is a casino poker table from Platipus, released on 29 June 2023. You play heads-up against the dealer rather than against other players: both sides get two hole cards, five community cards are dealt to the middle, and the best five-card poker hand wins. Platipus says the deck is a standard 52 cards and is shuffled after every game. No RTP is published for it.

How a Hand Plays

Every hand starts with the Ante. You then see your two cards face up while the dealer’s two stay face down, and you decide to fold or raise. After the fourth community card you decide again – bet or check – and once all cards are out, the hands are compared.

The felt shows the same order: an ANTE circle at the front, RAISE on the left, and TURN and RIVER on the right. In our hand the Ante was €55, the raise was twice that (€110), and the Turn and River bets were €55 each, for a total bet of €275.

Our Hand

We were dealt 5♥ and J♥, and the game labelled it simply “High Card”. The board then ran 5, K, 5, 7, 2, which gave us Three of a Kind in fives. The dealer turned over 9 and K for Two Pairs, so our trips won. The result: a total win of €495 on a €275 total bet, and the balance moved from €10,000 at the start to €10,220.

Following the Money

The balance line makes the betting order easy to follow. It dropped from €10,000 to €9,945 the moment the €55 Ante went down, before any card was dealt. The raise, Turn and River added another €220, and the €495 payout then lifted the balance to €10,220 – a net gain of €220 on the hand.

Table and Presentation

The game is drawn as a classic green felt table with a longhorn “Texas Hold’em” logo in the middle, a chip rack along the top edge and card decks at both corners. Both hands are labelled on screen as they develop – “High Card”, “Three of a Kind”, “Two Pairs” – so you never have to work out the ranking yourself.

Table Limits and Controls

The limit sign on the table reads min €1, max €1,000. A chip selector at the bottom left sets the chip size (1 and 50 in our screenshots), and the buttons on the right deal, clear and rebet the last hand.
