Lucky Pups Overview

Lucky Pups is a dog-themed video slot from GameArt, released on 9 July 2024. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 25 paylines, and it mixes three things: stacked paw-print wilds in the base game, three fixed jackpots printed above the reels, and a Free Spins round with a collar-collecting bonus.

GameArt’s own demo configuration gives the game an RTP of 96.08% (96.85% when you buy the bonus) and a maximum win of 2,340.6x the bet. SlotCatalog lists a slightly different 96.11% and the same 2,340x ceiling, with bets from $0.25 to $200. No volatility rating is published for the game, so we leave that field open. The numbers below come from our demo session, played mostly at a 12.50 and a 2.50 bet.

A Living Room Full of Dogs

The reels stand in a cosy living room with brick walls, framed pictures, a lamp and a green sofa, and the whole cast is made up of dogs and their toys. The premium symbols are four dog portraits – a white bulldog in an orange frame, a husky in sunglasses, a purple poodle and a fluffy brown terrier – while the low symbols are a red rubber ball, a blue tennis ball, a green ball and a purple ball of yarn.

The special symbols fit the theme: the wild is a pink paw print, and the scatter is a wooden dog kennel with its name on the roof. A round BONUS button sits on the left side of the reels, and the balance, bet and win fields run along the bottom in a plain, readable layout.

The Paytable

The paytable prints its prizes in cash for the current bet. At a 2.50 bet the bulldog pays 50.00 for five, 10.00 for four and 2.50 for three – 20x the stake for the top combination. The husky follows with 40.00, 8.00 and 2.00, and the poodle pays 30.00 for five.

The balls sit well below the dogs. The red ball pays 10.00, 2.50 and 1.00, the blue tennis ball 7.00, 2.00 and 0.50, and the yarn 5.00 for five. With 25 lines, most base-game wins come from several short lines at once rather than from a single five-of-a-kind.

25 Paylines

The info pages draw each of the 25 lines on a small 5x3 grid. The first few are the familiar straight rows across the top, middle and bottom, and the rest are V-shapes, zigzags and steps that cut across the reels. Wins pay from left to right on these lines, so a stack of wilds on a middle reel can join several lines at the same time.

That is exactly what the paw wilds do in practice. One wild column on reel 3 is enough to connect different symbols on the left and right, and two or three wild columns turn even the humble balls into a multi-line win.

Three Fixed Jackpots

Three jackpot plaques sit above the reels and scale with the bet. At 12.50 they read MINI 375.00, MAJOR 1,000.00 and MEGA 12,500.00, and at 2.50 they drop to 75, 200 and 2,500 – so the ladder is always 30x, 80x and 1,000x the stake.

The MEGA plaque alone is worth 1,000x, a little under half of the published 2,340.6x maximum, so the biggest results come from a jackpot landing together with other wins in the same feature.

Paw-Print Wilds

The pink paw wild lands in stacks and does most of the work in the base game. In one spin a full column of three wilds on the middle reel linked three husky portraits on the left with the symbols on the right and paid 130.00 on the 12.50 bet – 10.4x the stake.

A later spin was even better. Wilds filled most of reels 3, 4 and 5, and a row of red balls and tennis balls on the left ran through them on several lines at once for 225.00 – 18x the bet from low-value symbols alone.

Free Spins and the Collar Bonus

Three kennel scatters trigger the feature. In our session they landed on reels 1, 3 and 5, paid 7.50 on the 2.50 bet (3x) and awarded 6 Free Spins.

The round moves into a party room with balloons and a small terrier peeking up from the bottom of the screen. Collar symbols carry cash values – we saw 12.50 and 50.00 – and in one capture a large collar in the centre of the grid showed 75.00 while the counter read “Playing respin: 1”. The collar appears to gather the values on screen, but the game does not spell out the rule on the screens we captured, so treat that as our reading.

Buy Bonus

A Buy Bonus button takes you straight to the Free Spins. At a 2.50 bet the price was 350.00, or 140x the stake, and GameArt’s configuration gives the bought feature a higher RTP of 96.85%.

That is an expensive entry ticket. The natural route is three scatters, and the scatter payment is small, so the buy option is mainly for players who want to see the feature without waiting for it.

SlotCatalog also lists a 3x3 Mega Symbol and Respins among the game’s features. We did not see a 3x3 block in our captures, so we cannot say how often it appears or which symbols it uses; the respin counter we did see belonged to the collar bonus inside the Free Spins.

The Gamble Feature

Any win can be taken to a card gamble. You can guess the colour for x2 or the suit for x4; in our capture a 450.00 win offered 900.00 for the right colour and 1,800.00 for the right suit. GameArt’s configuration allows up to five gambles in a row.

The Numbers to Keep in Mind

A 96.08% return sits right on the industry average, and the 2,340.6x ceiling is moderate for a game with a 1,000x jackpot built in. The fixed plaques are the clearest part of the design: you always know what the three jackpots are worth before you spin.

Bets run from $0.25 to $200 according to SlotCatalog. Because the jackpots are fixed multiples of the stake, the plaques move with the bet: at the top stake the MEGA jackpot would be worth 200,000 and the MINI 6,000. At the minimum stake the MEGA drops to 250.
