Le Sortudo Overview

Le Sortudo is a Hacksaw Gaming hold-and-win game on a compact 3x3 grid with 9 paylines, carrying a 96.27% RTP, medium volatility and a maximum win of 2,500x the bet.

The rulebook sets the scene in one sentence: Smokey is heading to Brazil in search of shiny coins, jackpots and two Hold & Win games. In Le Sortudo, he slips on flip-flops and sunnies for a beachy disguise in order to steal a max win of 2,500 times your bet. Hacksaw also states that the max win is reachable in all modes of the game.

Theme and Graphics

The setting is a Rio backstreet: pastel houses stacked up a hillside, palm trees, a plane crossing the sky and the Christ the Redeemer statue visible on the ridge in the loading screen. Smokey the racoon leans on the right-hand side of the reels in a green cap, sunglasses and a football shirt, holding a crowbar.

The four jackpot signs run down the left edge in a stack of coloured plaques, and a black cauldron of gold sits at their foot. Three hearts on the right are the life meter. Everything the game tracks is visible on screen at once, which matters in a hold-and-win title.

The symbols fit the holiday theme rather than the heist one: a blue flip-flop, a can of beer, a frosted glass of chopp, and carved K and A letters. When something good lands, Smokey shouts BOA! in a speech bubble.

The Coin Ladders

Coins are the engine, and Hacksaw publishes their values in full. Each coin reveals a cash prize paid as a multiple of the bet, and the tier is colour-coded:

Bronze coins carry 0.2x, 0.4x, 1x or 2x. Silver coins carry 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x or 9x. Gold coins carry 10x, 15x, 20x, 30x, 40x or 50x.

Three or more coins or jackpot markers landing together – in any combination – award their values after the regular line wins have been settled. At a €5 stake a full board of gold would be a serious result; at the €500 stake used in some of the captures, a single 50x gold coin is worth €25,000.

Four Jackpots, and the Grand Is the Cap

The jackpot markers pay one of four fixed prizes, shown on the signs beside the grid: MINI 5x, MEDIO 25x, MAJOR 250x and GRAND 2,500x.

That last figure is worth pausing on. The Grand jackpot is exactly the game’s maximum win – hitting it is not a step towards the ceiling, it is the ceiling. Everything else in the game is built to get you to that marker.

Hold and Win: Three Lives, Not Three Spins

A single Rainbow scatter in the base game opens Rainbow Fortune Hold & Win. Inside it only coins, jackpot markers, pots of gold, clovers and dead symbols can land, and the dead symbols do nothing at all.

The round is counted in lives rather than spins: three lives on the meter, and every time any special symbol lands it sticks to the grid and the meter refills to three. The round ends only when three consecutive spins land nothing. It is the same idea as a respin counter, presented in a way that makes the tension easier to read.

Clovers and the Pot of Gold

Two symbols turn a decent round into a big one. Clovers land only when coins are on the grid, and at the end of the round they multiply the value of all coins. The available multipliers are x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9, x10, x15 and x20, and the rulebook calls them multiplicative – two clovers compound rather than add.

The Pot of Gold reveals every coin value, activates any clovers first, then collects and stores the whole total, removing the coins from the grid as it goes. Only one pot can land per spin. In the captures a pot sits in the middle of the board holding a running total of 17.

Fill the grid completely with coins, clovers and markers – or land an activated pot on a full board of specials – and everything pays out at once, with the grid cleared before the next spin.

The Epic Drop Round

Rainbow Epic Drop Hold & Win is the premium version, triggered by an Epic Rainbow scatter. It runs the same rules with two upgrades: the grid arrives already full of special symbols, with at least one coin and one pot of gold guaranteed, and every coin that lands is worth at least 1x.

Removing the bronze tier’s 0.2x and 0.4x rungs sounds small, but on a board of nine symbols it raises the floor of the whole round considerably.

FeatureSpins Pricing

Both rounds can be bought through the FeatureSpins menu, and the prices are far apart. At a €5.00 bet, Rainbow Fortune costs €175.00 – 35x – while Rainbow Epic Drop costs €500.00, or 100x.

Hacksaw labels both as high volatility even though the base game is medium, and the confirmation dialog explains that FeatureSpins stay switched on until you turn them off, charging that amount every spin.

What the Line Symbols Pay

The ordinary pay table is almost an afterthought. At the €5.00 bet, three K or three A pay 1.00 – a fifth of the stake. The flip-flop pays 5.00, the beer can 10.00 and the glass of chopp 15.00, which is 3x the bet for the best line in the game.

Against a 50x gold coin or a 250x Major, that tells you exactly where the game keeps its money. Hacksaw also notes that the quoted 96.27% RTP was calculated by simulating ten billion rounds.

What a Session Looks Like

The captures cover two very different stakes, and the contrast is instructive. At €5.00 a hold-and-win round filled most of the grid with silver coins and one gold, and the game announced GRANDE VITORIA 101.00 – a 20x result, and a good ordinary outcome rather than a remarkable one.

At €500.00 the same board reads very differently: a single coin revealing a 2 paid 200.00, the pot of gold sat on 17, and the Mini marker was showing in the corner. The mechanics do not change with the stake, but the tempo of the balance does – it fell from €5,063 to €4,038 in a handful of high-stake spins.

One small detail from the rulebook is worth knowing before you read too much into the animations: the coin bucket filling up beside the grid is purely for visual effect and does not affect the game’s outcome. Hacksaw says so outright.

Who Should Play It

Le Sortudo is a good fit for players who like hold-and-win games but find the six-reel versions slow. A 3x3 grid fills quickly, the life meter keeps rounds short and sharp, and the coin ladders are published in full so you always know what is possible.

The 2,500x cap is modest by Hacksaw standards, so anyone hunting five-figure multipliers should look at the studio’s bigger titles. What you get instead is a game where the top prize is a visible, clearly labelled jackpot sign rather than an abstract number.
