Plata o Plomo Deluxe Overview

Plata o Plomo Deluxe is a crime-themed video slot from Spinmatic, released on 22 February 2024. The title borrows the old cartel ultimatum – “silver or lead” – and turns it into the game’s bonus round, where you decide whether Pablo tries to bribe his way past the police or shoots it out. It is the “Deluxe” take on the same story that Spinmatic also tells in Plata o Plomo Hold & Win.

The game runs on 5 reels and 4 rows with 40 fixed paylines. The official rules give an RTP of 95.40%, and SlotCatalog rates the variance as low to medium.

The Reels and Symbols

The reels stand in a clearing of a dense jungle, with a stone-walled compound in the distance. Pablo himself waits to the right of the grid in a tan suit, a pistol in one hand and a bag stuffed with banknotes in the other.

The top of the paytable is a row of character portraits – Pablo’s men and the officers hunting them. Below them come the props of the trade: a steel safe, a pile of bullets, a glass of whisky on the rocks, a wrapped brick of cash and a police badge in Colombian colours. The low tier is made of card ranks from 10 to A. A Plata o Plomo logo tile also appears on the reels.

How the Moving Wild Works

The key symbol is the Moving Wild, which is Pablo. According to Spinmatic’s rules he can only land on the first reel. When he does, he awards a respin and steps one reel to the right, substituting for every other symbol on the way. Each step is a fresh chance to complete lines with him in a new position.

The walk also drives the bonus. If Pablo meets one of the three law-enforcement characters – Peña, Steve or Carillo – while he moves across the grid, the Bonus Game is triggered.

Our Base-Game Wins

All our screenshots were taken at a bet of €80, the top of the published €0.40–€80 range. Three line wins from the session:

  • €500 (6.25x) – a diagonal line of character portraits climbing from the bottom of reel 1 to the top of reel 4, with a WILD helping on reel 2.
  • €150 (1.9x) – three matching portraits across the lower rows of reels 1 to 3.
  • €60 (0.75x) – three glasses of whisky on a zigzag line across the first three reels.

The best moment was a Big Win of €1,300, 16.25x the stake, shown over a pile of cash in the jungle. The reels afterwards showed a total win of €1,350 for the round, with two Plata o Plomo logos side by side on reels 4 and 5.

Bet Settings

Spinmatic prices the game in coins. A spin always costs 40 coins (one per payline), and the total bet is set with two controls: the bet level (coins per line) and the coin value. Line wins in the paytable are multiplied by the bet level and then converted to money at the coin value. A Max Bet button jumps straight to the highest level and coin value, and a Quick Spin mode is available where regulations allow it.

The rules add two details worth knowing. Only the highest win on each payline is paid, but wins on different lines are added together, which is how a single spin with Pablo in the middle of the grid can pay on several lines at once. The paytable, the game history and a statistics panel are all reached from the settings menu, and the Autoplay can run a chosen number of rounds automatically.

The Bonus Game: Pablo’s Escape

The feature opens on a title card, “Pablo’s Escape – click anywhere to start”. Pablo then walks down a jungle path towards the officers, and the game asks the question in its name with two large buttons: PLATA, a bundle of banknotes, or PLOMO, three bullets.

The official rules explain what each choice does:

  • Plata (money) – Pablo offers a bribe. Either the officer accepts it and you move on to the next stage with bonus coins, or the bribe fails, Pablo dies and you leave with the first 50 coins.
  • Plomo (bullet) – a duel starts. If Pablo wins, he collects the stage award and walks on to the next figure; if he loses, you return to the base game with the 50 coins.

There are three figures in total. Losing at the second or third stage still pays the first 50 coins plus the bonus coins from every stage already cleared. If Pablo is still standing after the third step, the rules promise a Big Win of up to 100,000 coins on top of everything collected on the way. All bonus amounts scale with the bet.

What Our Bonus Paid

Our escape did not go all the way. One screenshot shows the duel scene, with the officer and Pablo facing each other and €200 displayed at the top of the screen. The round ended with the heading that Pablo had been caught, and a suitcase full of cash announced “Congratulations! You won €300 – Bonus Game”, which is 3.75x the €80 stake.

That result illustrates the design well: the safe route and the violent route both keep a small consolation prize, and the big money only arrives if you get past all three officers.

Theme and Presentation

The art style is closer to a graphic novel than to a gritty drama. The portraits are painted in dark reds and greens, winning symbols light up inside gold sparkling frames, and the win amount is printed in large gold numbers across the grid. The jungle background stays the same in the bonus, so the escape feels like a continuation of the base game rather than a separate screen.

RTP and Numbers

The 95.40% RTP comes from the game’s own rules page, and it matches the figure listed by SlotCatalog. Spinmatic does not publish a maximum win multiplier or a volatility rating for this title; the 100,000-coin ceiling in the bonus is the largest figure it quotes.

Who It Is For

Plata o Plomo Deluxe suits players who like a story attached to their bonus and do not mind a decision that can end it early. The walking Pablo wild keeps the base game moving with respins, and the silver-or-lead choice gives the feature real tension. If you prefer a coin-collecting jackpot format, the Hold & Win version of the same theme is the one to try.

Plata o Plomo Deluxe was not available at any of our six partner casinos when we checked on 28 September 2026, so the casino above is a general recommendation. The free demo on this page runs on Spinmatic’s own server.
