Wild Forties OverviewWild Forties is a classic fruit slot from the Playnet studio, released under the Foxi (Fazi) brand in October 2024. It runs on 5 reels and 4 rows with 40 fixed paylines, and the whole design is built around two ideas: stacked wilds that sweep through the middle reels, and a star scatter that pays anywhere on screen. All the figures in this review come from our own demo session at a total bet of 40.00, which works out to 1.00 per line. That makes the arithmetic easy – divide any prize by 40 and you have its multiple of the stake. A Fruit Machine in OrangeThe reels sit in a chrome frame on a hot orange background, with the gold-and-red WILD FORTIES logo on top. The symbols are the full fruit-machine set: red sevens, golden bells, watermelons, grapes, oranges, plums, cherries, lemons and a golden star. Every winning symbol bursts into flame when it pays, and the paylines are drawn across the reels as thin red lines, so you can follow each line win at a glance. The controls are kept to a single strip at the bottom: the total bet on the left, a large win and balance panel in the middle, and the menu, autoplay and spin buttons on the right. The Paytable at 40.00The red seven is the top line symbol and the only one that pays for two of a kind: 5 sevens return 1,000.00 (25x), 4 pay 200.00 (5x), 3 pay 60.00 (1.5x) and 2 pay 4.00. The bell comes next with 300.00 (7.5x), 100.00 and 40.00 for five, four and three. The watermelon and grapes share a line of 200.00 (5x), 80.00 and 20.00. The four remaining fruits – orange, plum, cherry and lemon – all pay 100.00 (2.5x), 40.00 and 8.00. That is a steep table. A full line of sevens is worth ten times a full line of oranges, so the sevens carry most of the base game's value, and the lower fruits mainly keep the balance ticking over. The Star ScatterThe golden star is the scatter, and it is where the biggest single prize in the game sits. Three stars anywhere on the reels pay 80.00 (2x), four pay 800.00 (20x) and five pay 20,000.00 – 500x the total bet. There are no free spins attached to the star. Wild Forties is a straight line-and-scatter game, and the star simply adds a prize on top of whatever the paylines return. Stacked Wilds on the Middle ReelsThe WILD symbol appears only on the three middle reels, and our screenshots show it landing in tall stacks. In one spin reel 2 was completely covered with four wilds and reel 3 carried three more; with watermelons on reel 1 and cherries across the right side, that spin paid 640.00 (16x). The wild substitutes for the fruits and the seven on every one of the 40 lines at once, which is why a single tall stack can light up a dozen paylines in the same spin. What 40 Lines DoWith 40 lines on a 5x4 grid, almost every position is part of several lines. The payline pages show the familiar straight rows plus a long list of zig-zags, V-shapes and crossing patterns up to line 40. The result is that stacked symbols count several times. Our biggest win without a wild came from six sevens climbing diagonally across the first three reels: every line that crossed the staircase picked up three sevens, and the spin paid 384.00 (9.6x). Another spin with sevens stacked three high on the first two reels paid 104.00, and four plums in a row across several lines returned 320.00 (8x). How a Line Win Is CountedLine wins follow the usual rule: matching symbols must start on the leftmost reel and run from left to right along an active line. Three matching symbols is the minimum for every symbol except the seven, which already pays with two, so the seven is the only symbol that can pay from the first two reels alone. Because every one of the 40 lines is always active, the total bet is split evenly across them, and each line win is paid at the line stake. The paytable in the game already shows the prizes at your chosen total bet, which is why our figures above read as round amounts at 40.00. The scatter works differently. Stars pay in any position, they do not need to sit on a line or start on reel 1, and their prize is added to the line wins from the same spin. In practice that means a spin can pay a line win, a scatter win and a wild-assisted win all at the same time, and the win panel simply adds them together. Our Demo SessionThe smaller results were just as instructive. Oranges linked through a stack of wilds on reel 4 paid 80.00 (2x), and lemons with wilds on reels 2 and 4 paid 96.00 (2.4x). Over the session the balance moved between roughly 4,088 and 5,440 on the 40.00 bet – the gentle swings you expect from a classic fruit game with a modest top line prize. The game’s own rules page gives an RTP of 96.38% and a maximum multiplier of x1000. No volatility rating is published, and there is no SlotCatalog listing for the original game, so that field stays blank rather than a guess. The festive Wild Forties Xmas is a separate game with its own listing. Who Should Play ItWild Forties suits players who like old-school fruit machines but want more action than a 5-line classic. The 40 lines and the stacked wilds on the middle reels give it frequent small wins, the sevens provide the line hits worth waiting for, and the five-star scatter at 500x is the one prize that can transform a session. If you want free spins, bonus rounds or a buy feature, look elsewhere. This game is about fast spins, and it plays the same way from the first bet to the last.
