Immortal Ways Diamonds Overview

Immortal Ways Diamonds is a gem-and-fruit slot from Ruby Play, released on 12 June 2023. It plays on six reels shaped 4-5-5-5-5-4, which gives 10,000 ways to win, and it adds gold coins, prize wheels and four fixed jackpots on top of the ordinary ways pays.

Ruby Play publishes an RTP of 96.29%, medium volatility, a hit frequency of 53.18% and a maximum win of 3,221x the bet. SlotCatalog lists the same RTP and maximum, with bets from €0.25 to €125. The figures below come from our own demo session at a €20 total bet.

A Classic Look on a Modern Grid

The symbol set is deliberately old-school: a purple 777, a golden bell, red, blue and green gems, cherries and the card royals from A to Q. They sit on a dark purple background with neon edges, and the four middle reels are framed in gold as two separate blocks of 5x2 positions.

Those two framed blocks are the heart of the game. Ruby Play calls them the Immortal Arrays, and small numbered badges beside them count down the spins they have left.

How the Reels Are Built

The grid is easiest to read column by column. The two outer reels hold four symbols each, and the four inner reels hold five each, so the number of ways is 4 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 4 = 10,000. The inner reels are grouped in pairs inside the gold frames, which is why the game treats them as two separate arrays rather than one large block.

In our captures the outer reels carried only regular symbols, while the coins, the wilds and the jackpot labels landed inside the two framed blocks. The prize wheel was the exception: it appeared on the left edge of the screen, over the first reel.

The Paytable

At the €20 bet the paytable is printed in cash, and the line wins are modest. Six purple 777s pay €8.00, five €5.60, four €4.80 and three €3.20. The bell pays €6.40 for six, the red gem €5.60, the blue gem €4.80, and the green gem and the cherry €4.00 each.

Because the wins count across 10,000 ways, several small combinations often land together. One spin paid €5.60, another said “6 ways pays €14.40” on its way to a €27.20 total, and a third showed “4 ways pays €16.00” within a €62.40 win.

Wilds Inside the Arrays

Purple and gold WILD symbols also land on the inner reels. In one capture three wilds sat in the left array next to coins worth 48 and 120, and the spin paid €27.20. In another, four wilds spread across both arrays helped a set of cherries, K’s and gems to the €62.40 total, the biggest ordinary ways win of our session.

Gold Coins and the Immortal Arrays

Gold coins carry cash values and land only on the four middle reels. In our captures they showed 16, 20, 32, 40, 48, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140 and 180. According to Ruby Play, every new coin holds its position for an additional three spins, and the badges next to the arrays count those spins down.

An Immortal Array is won when all its positions are filled with coins, or when a prize wheel lands on Collect. In one capture the left array filled completely, the screen announced “Immortal Ways Winner”, and the round paid €416.00 – 20.8x the bet.

The countdown badges make the rule easy to follow on screen. In our captures they showed 1, 2 and 3 at different moments, and the coins in each block stayed exactly where they had landed until the count ran out. One array can be close to full while the other is almost empty, as happened when the left block locked in coins worth 16, 20, 32, 60 and 160 while the right block was still collecting.

The Prize Wheel

If a wheel lands, it randomly awards a jackpot, a cash value, a multiplier or Collect. One of our captures shows the wheel on the left edge of the screen, with segments reading x2, x4, 140, MINOR and GRAND.

Four Fixed Jackpots

At the €20 bet the jackpot plaques read GRAND €10,000, MAJOR €2,000, MINOR €800 and MINI €320 – that is 500x, 100x, 40x and 16x the bet. They scale with the stake and are not progressive. A MAJOR label also appeared on one of the coin positions in our session.

Free Games

Three or more scatter symbols trigger 8 free games. During the feature all coins hold their positions until the Immortal Array is won or the free games end, and all remaining coins are paid at the end of the round. We did not capture the feature itself, so this description follows Ruby Play’s own rules.

Our Session in Numbers

The cash display moved a long way during our captures, from €980.00 at one point down to €99.20 at another, which shows how many ordinary spins pay less than the €20 stake. The array win of €416.00 was the single biggest result we recorded, more than six times the best ways win.

The game’s controls are simple: a total-bet selector at the bottom left, Turbo and Auto buttons, and a large green spin button. Casinos also list a separate Immortal Ways Diamonds SE edition, which is a different release from the one reviewed here.

The fixed plaques also put the published maximum in perspective. The Grand alone is 500x, and a full Immortal Array filled with high coins can add much more on top, which is how Ruby Play arrives at a 3,221x ceiling. The ordinary ways pays, by contrast, top out at 0.4x the bet for six 777s.

What the Numbers Mean

A 53.18% hit frequency means that more than half of all spins return something, which fits the small ways wins we saw. The real value sits in the arrays and the wheel: the 500x Grand and the full-array payouts are where the 3,221x ceiling comes from.
