Heavenly Warriors Overview

Heavenly Warriors is an oriental fantasy slot from Apollo Games, released on 23 June 2024. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 25 fixed paylines, and its features all revolve around colossal wilds – symbols that fill a whole reel. Two of them on reels 2 and 4 start one of three free spins rounds: the Wind Bonus, the Cloud Bonus or the combined Storm Bonus.

Apollo Games does not publish an RTP, a volatility rating or a maximum win for this title, and SlotCatalog lists all three as N/A, so we leave those fields open. Theme and Symbols

The reels are framed against a stormy sky over a walled city, and the warriors themselves appear as the wild symbols: sword-wielding fighters in blue and red, drawn in a detailed painted style. The paying symbols are a fiery dragon emblem, a jade dragon medallion, ornate weapons, and a set of card ranks in green and purple.

At our 500 Kč bet the two dragon symbols paid 50,000 Kč for five of a kind – 100x the stake – with 10,000 and 20,000 Kč for four and 5,000 Kč for three. The weapons paid 25,000 Kč for five and 5,000 Kč for four. Wins pay left to right on consecutive reels from the first reel.

The Wind and Cloud Wilds

Two wilds are active in the base game, and each one is only a partial substitute:

• Wind WILD (blue) – substitutes for all symbols except the Cloud WILD, and its presence can activate the Wind Bonus.
• Cloud WILD (red) – substitutes for all symbols except the Wind WILD, and can activate the Cloud Bonus.

The trigger is always the same shape: full colossal wilds on reels 2 and 4. Two Wind colossals start the Wind Bonus, two Cloud colossals start the Cloud Bonus, and one of each, in any order, starts the Storm Bonus. Each round awards 6 free spins.

Wind Bonus

During the Wind Bonus a Wind Demon WILD can land on reels 2 and 4 alongside the standard symbols. If it appears in at least one position on reel 2 or 4, you receive one extra free spin. Its main job is the scroll feature: when an incomplete colossal symbol lands, it expands to cover the full reel, turning a partial wild into a reel-long one.

Cloud Bonus

The Cloud Bonus uses a Cloud Demon WILD on reels 2 and 4, and it also grants an extra free spin whenever it lands. Here the reward is a doubled payline: any line that passes through at least one Cloud Demon WILD pays twice. The rules are explicit that two Demon wilds on the same line still only double the win – they do not quadruple it.

Storm Bonus

The Storm Bonus is the combined round. It is triggered by one colossal Wind WILD and one colossal Cloud WILD on reels 2 and 4, and in it a Storm WILD can appear on those reels. The Storm WILD combines the properties of both demons: it scrolls across the entire reel and doubles the paylines passing through it. As in the Cloud Bonus, two Storm wilds on one line still double rather than quadruple, and a colossal Storm WILD adds one extra free spin. The Storm WILD appears only in this round.

Comparing the Three Rounds

The three free spins rounds share the same length – 6 spins, extended by one for every Demon or colossal Storm WILD that lands – so the difference lies in what the wilds on reels 2 and 4 do. The Wind Bonus is about coverage: its scroll feature turns partial colossal symbols into full reels, so more lines connect on each spin. The Cloud Bonus is about value: the reels are not widened, but every line through a Cloud Demon WILD pays double.

The Storm Bonus is the one to hope for, because its Storm WILD does both at once – it scrolls over the whole reel and doubles the lines through it. The doubling is capped at x2 per line in both the Cloud and Storm rounds, even when a line crosses two of the special wilds, so the extra value comes from the number of lines paid rather than from stacking multipliers. You cannot choose the round: the colours of the two colossal wilds that land decide it.

Our Session

Most of our base-game wins came from a single colossal wild on reel 2. A red Cloud WILD filling that reel linked card symbols on either side for 1,300 Kč and 2,000 Kč, and later for 4,500 Kč, when jade Js covered almost every position on the other reels. A blue Wind WILD in the same place produced 1,800 Kč with a row of As and 5,500 Kč with Ks spread across three reels.

Two of the better results needed no wild at all. A screen of pink Qs on the first three reels, stacked in several rows, paid 4,400 Kč, and a board almost full of Js paid 6,100 Kč – 12.2x the stake and the best round of the session. With 25 lines on a 5x3 grid, a heavy stack of one low symbol can hit a large share of the lines at once, so these screens pay more than the card symbols’ modest values suggest.

A colossal wild on reel 2 alone does not start a bonus – the matching colossal has to land on reel 4 in the same spin – so on its own it works as a plain base-game helper. It is a useful one, though: every one of the 25 lines passes through reel 2, so a full-reel wild there joins in on any line that starts with a symbol on reel 1.

Paylines and Controls

The help screen draws all 25 winning lines, and each one is read from the leftmost reel: a win needs three, four or five identical symbols on consecutive reels, or wilds standing in for them. The interface keeps things simple – a large spin button and smaller controls for autoplay and the bet on the right, with credit, winnings and bet shown along the bottom bar.

Apollo Games is a Czech studio, which is why the demo runs in koruna. The multiples are what matter: at any stake, the dragons’ five-of-a-kind is worth 100 times the bet and the weapons’ five 50 times.
