Mardi Gras Queen OverviewMardi Gras Queen is a carnival-themed slot from NetGame. It plays on a 5x3 grid with 243 ways to win, and NetGame’s own game data gives an RTP of 96.13%, medium volatility and a maximum win of 6,000x the bet. NetGame lists the release date as 13 September 2024; SlotCatalog gives 15 August 2024. The numbers below come from our own demo session, played at a bet of €10.00. A Night on the ParadeThe reels float in front of a purple New Orleans street at night, with a crowd of dancers in silhouette and a glowing dance floor below. The queen herself, in a feathered headdress, is the top symbol, followed by a feathered mask, a cocktail and a parade drum. The low symbols are A, K, Q, J and 10. A golden carnival mask marked WILD substitutes for the regular symbols, a green crown marked BONUS triggers the free spins, and gold coins drive the Hold ‘N’ Link feature. NetGame describes the game as an invitation to the Mardi Gras party, with the rhythm of the parade and festive jackpots, and its symbol list is short: one wild, one bonus symbol, one coin, four “rare” premium symbols and five “common” card ranks. The PaytableThe paytable is printed in cash for the current bet. At €10 the queen pays €18.00 for five, €6.00 for four and €4.00 for three – so five queens are worth 1.8x the stake. The mask pays €14, €6 and €4, and the cocktail and the drum both pay €12, €4 and €2. A and K pay €10, €4 and €0.80; Q, J and 10 pay €6, €0.80 and €0.40. These are small figures per way, but on a 243-ways grid they add up across several combinations at once. Put against the bet, even the best line of five queens is worth less than 2x. That is a deliberate design choice: the regular symbols keep the balance ticking over, while the real value in the game sits in the coins and jackpots of the Hold ‘N’ Link feature. 243 Ways and Stacked WildsWins are combinations of a kind from left to right on adjacent reels, in any position. The wild masks often land two or three high on a reel, and that is what multiplies the ways. In our captures a column of three wilds on reel 2 turned a handful of A symbols into 6 ways worth €24.00. Another spin with two wilds and a pile of drums returned 9 ways worth €36.00, and the best base-game capture paid €72.00 – 7.2x the bet – with wilds stacked on reels 3 and 4. The number 243 comes from the grid itself: three positions on each of five reels gives 3×3×3×3×3 combinations. A symbol pays as long as it appears anywhere on adjacent reels starting from the first, so two matching symbols on reel 2 double the number of ways for the whole combination. Coins and the Four JackpotsCoins can carry a cash prize or one of the jackpots. The jackpot coins are worth MINI 10x, MINOR 25x and MAJOR 1,000x the bet, and filling every position on the grid with coins awards the GRAND jackpot of 3,000x. At €10 the plaques above the reels read 100, 250, 10,000 and 30,000. The jackpots are fixed rather than progressive – NetGame’s game data marks them as internal, non-progressive jackpots – so their value depends only on your bet, not on how much other players have staked. The GRAND is only half of the published 6,000x maximum, so the top result also needs the cash values collected in the same round. The Golden BowlA golden bowl full of coins sits beside the logo, and it is more than decoration. According to the paytable, when coins drop the bowl can add the missing amount to activate the Hold ‘N’ Link bonus – a second chance when a spin falls just short of the trigger. During the free spins the golden bowl may also add extra wild symbols to the reels. The paytable text runs past the edge of our capture at that point, so we cannot say exactly which reels the extra wilds can reach. The Free SpinsThree crown BONUS symbols trigger the free spins. In our capture they landed on reels 2, 3 and 4, and the game awarded 10 FREE SPINS. NetGame’s data puts the feature hit rate at 1 in 95 spins and big wins at 1 in 149, with an overall hit frequency of 23.33% – roughly one winning spin in four. The trigger screen is hard to miss: gold coins rain across the reels, a CONGRATULATIONS banner announces the ten spins, and the round starts with a tap. We did not capture the spins themselves, so we cannot report what our round paid. The balance moved between €724 and €1,157.60 over our captures. The base game paid small amounts often, with the stacked wilds producing the 24, 36 and 72 euro results above, while the bigger swings came from the feature. Stakes and ControlsSlotCatalog lists a stake range of 0.25 to 250 per spin. The controls sit on the right side of the reels: a spin button, a turbo button and an autoplay button, with the balance, the bet selector and the last win in a strip along the bottom. The four jackpot plaques above the reels update with the bet, so the value of every jackpot coin is always visible before the spin – at the minimum stake the GRAND would be worth 750, at the maximum 750,000. The Numbers to Keep in MindA 96.13% return is right on the industry average, and the medium volatility matches what we saw: regular small wins with occasional features. NetGame caps the maximum exposure at 250,000 EUR, and the 6,000x ceiling sits well above anything the line game can reach, so the Hold ‘N’ Link coins and jackpots carry the game. Who Should Play ItMardi Gras Queen suits players who like a bright theme, 243 ways and a hold-and-win feature with visible jackpots. The golden bowl gives the base game some extra tension, and the demo above lets you try it before you play for real money.
