Eternal Desire Overview

Eternal Desire is a gothic vampire slot from Zeus Play, first released on 21 December 2015. It runs on 5 reels and 3 rows with 20 fixed paylines, a published return of 96% and medium volatility. Zeus Play does not publish a maximum win for the game, so we leave that figure open.

A Snowbound Castle at Midnight

The reels stand in a carved stone frame guarded by two gargoyles, with a snowy Transylvanian castle, a full moon and glowing lanterns behind them. The gold Eternal Desire logo sits on top between two bat wings.

The cast is straight out of the Dracula story. Dracula himself, long-haired and pale on a red background, leads the premium symbols. Next to him are a dark-haired woman in a purple dress, a vampire hunter in a wide-brimmed hat with a pistol, and a bald servant carrying a glass of red wine on a tray. The low symbols are the card ranks 10, J, Q, K and A, drawn in gothic red, blue and gold letters. A coffin marked SCATTER and a pair of crossed swords marked WILD complete the set.

The interface is kept small and out of the way. A thin bar under the reels shows the bet, the credit balance and the last win in euros, and a round spin button sits in the bottom-right corner next to the menu. Nothing covers the reels while they spin, so the castle backdrop stays in view for the whole session.

The Paytable at €20

The in-game paytable shows every prize in cash for the current bet. The most valuable entries are the WILD versions of the four characters: each of them pays €1,000 for five (50x the bet), €250 for four, €50 for three and €6 for two.

The ordinary character symbols come next. Dracula pays €700 (35x), €200, €40 and €4. The woman in purple pays €500 (25x), €150, €30 and €4. The hunter pays €400 (20x), €126, €26 and €2, and the servant pays €350 (17.5x), €100, €20 and €2.

All four characters already pay for two of a kind, which keeps small wins coming in the base game.

How the Lines Pay

The rules page is short and clear: all symbols pay from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel, except the scatter, and only the highest win is paid on each line. The payline page shows the twenty patterns – the three straight rows, V-shapes, zig-zags and steps across the 5x3 grid.

With 20 lines on only fifteen positions, most symbols sit on several lines at once. That is why a single wild in the middle of the screen can lift three or four lines in the same spin.

Two Kinds of Wild

Our screenshots show the wild in two forms. The first is the crossed-swords tile, a single WILD that lands in one position. The second is a full-reel wild: the whole reel turns into one tall red banner with the crossed swords and the word WILD at the bottom, covering all three rows.

The full-reel version is the one that makes the difference. When reel 3 turned red, two servants on the first two reels were enough for a €72.00 win (3.6x). In another spin the red banner filled reel 3, queens sat on reels 1, 2 and 4, and a crossed-swords wild on reel 5 completed the line – that spin paid €208.00 (10.4x).

The banner also appeared on the first and second reels. With reel 1 fully wild and a crossed-swords wild on reel 2, the spin paid €88.00; with reel 2 fully wild and another wild on reel 3 it paid €156.00 (7.8x).

Free Spins and Extra Wilds

The coffin scatter is the one symbol that does not need a line, and it is tied to the bonus. SlotCatalog lists free spins with additional free spins, expanding symbols and random wilds among the features, together with a gamble option for doubling a win.

The older description of the game says that during the free spins the woman, Mina, merges with Dracula and upgrades into a wild. That fits the paytable, where every character has its own WILD version worth €1,000 for five – the richest line in the game. The free-spin round itself did not appear in our captures, so we cannot give a spin count from our own session.

What Our Session Showed

Our captures show a steady run of mid-sized wins on the €20 bet. The smallest was €30.00 (1.5x), from a crossed-swords wild on reel 1 linking up with character symbols on the next reels. Two Draculas and three crossed-swords wilds on the left of the screen produced €170.00 (8.5x).

The best capture was €214.00 (10.7x). The woman in purple appeared four times across the top and bottom rows, and a crossed-swords wild on reel 2 joined her lines. The balance moved between roughly €4,770 and €5,260 during the session – the gentle swings you expect from a medium-volatility game.

The coffin scatter showed up in two of our captures, each time a single coffin on the fifth reel next to a paying line. Neither spin opened the bonus, which matches the pattern of a medium-volatility game: the scatter appears often enough to keep you watching the last reel, but the free spins take their time. Most of the session’s value came from the wilds on the first three reels instead.

The Numbers to Keep in Mind

A 96% return is right at the industry average, and the medium volatility matches what we saw on the reels: frequent small and mid-sized wins, with the full-reel wild doing most of the heavy lifting.
