A Canyon at Sunset

The grid stands on a purple prairie under a setting sun, with red canyon walls on both sides. Above the reels, three great buffalo heads look down over a pair of swinging saloon doors, and a golden SUPER CHARGE panel sits between them.

The symbols are animals of the plains: the buffalo is the top symbol, followed by the wolf, the bear, the moose and the bald eagle, with the card ranks from 9 to A below them. The wild shows a desert sunset between two rocks, and the scatter is a gold coin.

Reels That Climb

The key to the game is the purple arrow totems above reels two, three and four. When one of them is triggered, the reel beneath it grows by extra rows. The outer reels always keep four rows. The published maximum of 5,488 ways works out as 4 × 7 × 7 × 7 × 4, which suggests that each middle reel can reach seven rows – that is our reading of the numbers rather than a rule printed in the game.

In one of our spins the middle reel rose to five rows with a purple arrow still on top. Buffaloes filled most of the first three reels and the spin paid 24.00 – 24x the bet – while an earlier stack of buffaloes across the grid returned 6.00.

Charge and Super Charge

The game’s own quick tip explains the three special events. A Charge replaces one or more totems with a buffalo. A Super Charge replaces three or more totems with a golden buffalo. The rarest result, 8 Free Game x3 x5, sends the player straight into the free games and boosts the wild to x3 or x5.

These events turn the growing reels into winning ways at once, because every new buffalo on a tall middle reel multiplies the ways through it.

The Free Games

Three scatters trigger the bonus. In our session they landed on the first three reels, and a herd of charging buffaloes announced 8 free games. During the round the counter on the left tracked the spins; on the third of eight we collected a BIG WIN of 4.80 at a 0.6 bet – 8x the stake – with buffaloes on the outer reels and a bear on the fourth.

Buy Bonus

A red BUY BONUS button in the top-right corner opens the purchase screen. At a bet of 0.6 the free game costs 25.5, which is 42.5x the stake, and the quantity can be raised: three bonuses at once cost 76.5. The bought rounds are then stored as tokens in the corner of the screen and played one after another.

The Session in Numbers

At a bet of 1 the base game paid in small steps: 0.60 with a single wild on the second reel, 6.00 from a spread of buffaloes and 24.00 from the tall middle reel. The balance moved from 103.08 to 91.28 and back up to 111.68 over those spins.

For the bonus we lowered the bet to 0.6 and bought the free games. The balance stood at 85.58 when the scatters landed and at 63.98 by the third free game, with one more bought round still waiting in the corner. At that point the purchase had not yet paid back its price; we did not capture the end of the round, so we cannot say how the full set of bought bonuses finished.
