A Field Outside Vienna

The reels stand on a battlefield at sunset, banners and pikes silhouetted against an orange sky. A Polish winged hussar in full armour rides on the left of the screen, his feathered wings arching behind him, and an Ottoman warrior with a curved sword faces him from the right. The Risk Game

The RISK button in the bottom right opens a gamble wheel, and it is the best-documented one we have seen. The dial is divided into coloured segments reading x2, x3 and x4, with a winged pointer at the edge.

Two figures sit beside it. “50000.00 – MAXIMUM POSSIBLE WINNINGS” caps what the gamble can ever produce – the Grand jackpot again – and “370.00 – YOU WON” shows the stake currently on the table. A COLLECT button sits below to take the money and walk away.

A wheel weighted towards x2 with occasional x3 and x4 is a far better proposition than the usual red-or-black coin flip, and having the ceiling printed on the same screen removes any guesswork about how far you can push it.

What The Reels Paid

Our session at a 50.00 bet showed both ends of the game. A modest spin with three Ottoman commanders paid 50.00 – the banner spelled it out as “3x pays 50.00”, exactly the paytable value and precisely the stake back.

A better one, with hussars, shields and swords lighting up most of the grid, produced a counter climbing through 503.17 towards a total of 670.00 – more than 13x the bet from base game symbols alone.
