Buffalo: Cash Pool Overview

Buffalo: Cash Pool is a Native American-themed slot from NetGame. The studio's own game data lists a release date of 3 November 2023, a 96.22% RTP, medium-high volatility and a maximum win of x5,000. The reels form a 5x4 grid with 1,024 ways to win, and above them sits the feature that gives the game its name: a four-row pool of cash prizes. (SlotCatalog lists a 96.16% RTP and a x1,334 top win; we use NetGame's published figures.)

The Cash Pool Above the Reels

The upper half of the screen is a 5x4 board of coloured tiles, each carrying a cash value. In our $12 session the tiles showed amounts such as $8, $12, $16, $36, $40, $100, $120, $160, $200, $400 and $600, plus one 1K tile. Mixed in with the cash are WHEEL tiles, which lead to the bonus wheel rather than a fixed sum.

The board is not static: the tiles change from spin to spin, and the numbers are tied to the stake, so the pool grows or shrinks with your bet.

Cash Pool Symbols

The link between the reels and the board is the red CASH POOL symbol. In one of our spins four of them filled the first reel from top to bottom, and the game paid $332.00 in one go – a Big Win of about 27.7x the $12 stake, announced with two charging buffalo.

NetGame's symbol list confirms two Cash Pool symbols, one Wild, one Scatter and one Wheel symbol, alongside five premium and six common symbols.

Reading the Board in Multiples

Because every tile is a cash amount, it helps to convert them into multiples of the bet. At our $12 stake the small tiles of $8 and $12 were worth 0.67x and 1x, the common $40 and $100 tiles 3.3x and 8.3x, the $160 and $200 tiles 13.3x and 16.7x, and the top cash tiles of $400 and $600 33.3x and 50x. The single 1K tile was the richest square on the board at about 83x. The 27.7x win we collected with four Cash Pool symbols shows that even a full reel of collectors usually pays in the tens, not the hundreds; the big multiples live on the wheel and in the jackpots.

Part of the Cash Pool Series

Buffalo: Cash Pool is one of several NetGame titles built on the same prize-board idea. The studio's catalogue also lists Black Bullion: Cash Pool, Frontier Gold: Cash Pool, Bandit's Bounty: Cash Pool and Cactus Riches Cash Pool, each with its own theme on top of the shared mechanic.

The Bonus Wheel

When the wheel is triggered, it appears over the board. The segments we saw read 10x, 15x, 30x, 80x and Grand Jackpot, with a golden arrow at the top picking the result.

The Jackpots

Two fixed jackpots are displayed above the grid at all times. At a $12 bet the Grand showed $36,000 – 3,000x the stake – and the Major showed $6,000, or 500x. NetGame marks the jackpots as internal and non-progressive, which matches what we saw: the values stayed fixed at the same bet.

Free Spins: Wild or Cash Pool

The bonus round opens with a dream-catcher panel: “Congratulations – You Won 8 Free Spins”, followed by a choice to play as WILD or play as CASH POOL. The first option leans on wild symbols; the second keeps the focus on the cash board.

In the base game the WILD symbols carry the buffalo head and appear stacked; a spin with wilds on the middle reels paid $54.00, or 4.5x the stake.

What the Numbers Say

NetGame publishes an unusually detailed statistics sheet for this slot:

  • Hit frequency: 19.87%
  • Feature hit rate: 1 in 90 spins
  • Big win hit rate: 1 in 106 spins
  • Maximum exposure: €250,000

A feature roughly every 90 spins is quite frequent for a medium-high volatility game; the relatively low hit frequency means that the base game often goes quiet between those moments.

The Symbols

The premium symbols are the animals of the prairie – buffalo, eagle, puma and bear – drawn in a painterly style. The low symbols are the card ranks 10, J, Q, K and A, done in stone with tribal patterns. The Wheel symbol is a golden medallion with a buffalo head.

Graphics and Setting

The reels stand in a carved wooden frame topped with feathers and flanked by two totem poles, with a camp of tepees, a lake and distant mountains at dusk behind them. The cash board uses bright colour-coded tiles that stand out sharply against the dark reels.

Who It Is For

Buffalo: Cash Pool is for players who like a visible prize table – you always know what the Cash Pool symbols are playing for. The 1,024 ways, the wheel and the choice of free spin mode give the game more variety than a standard buffalo slot, and a feature every 90 spins keeps things moving. The x5,000 ceiling is reached through the jackpots and the board rather than the paytable.
