Toxic Haze OverviewToxic Haze is a post-apocalyptic slot released under the Foxi (Fazi) brand on 3 July 2024. It plays on a 5x5 grid with 40 fixed paylines, and its main feature is a set of wild symbols that move across the grid in the free spins, adding their multipliers together as they meet. SlotCatalog lists an RTP of 96.82% and a maximum win of 2,674x the bet, but no volatility rating, so we leave that field open rather than guess. The numbers below come from our own demo session, played at a bet of 30.00. A City Under Purple SmokeThe grid floats over the ruins of a city wrapped in purple haze, with broken tower blocks, bare trees and flashes of lightning in the background. The premium symbols fit the theme: a radiation sign, a gas mask, red toxic barrels, a staring eye, a pink brain and a hand grenade. The low symbols are the letters A, K, Q and J, drawn in neon colours. Above the grid two jackpot plaques are always on show: a Platinum Jackpot and a Diamond Jackpot. Both values grew during our session – the Platinum from 67.89 to 167.04 and the Diamond from 442.55 to 1,088.71. The PaytableThe paytable is printed in cash for the current bet. At 30.00 the wild pays 375.00 for five, 112.50 for four and 37.50 for three – 12.5x the bet for a full line. The radiation sign pays 300.00, 60.00 and 30.00, and the gas mask and the barrels pay 150.00, 37.50 and 15.00. The eye, the brain and the grenade pay 75.00 for five, the A and K pay 45.00, and the Q and J pay 30.00. All wins run from left to right on adjacent reels, only the highest win on each line is paid, and wins on several lines are added together. Wilds with MultipliersThe wild is a yellow hazard sign marked WILD. It can appear anywhere on the reels and substitutes for every symbol except the Bonus. The paytable shows it in three versions – x1, x4 and x16 – and the multiplier versions are the ones that matter in the free spins. In the base game the wilds often land in groups. Our first capture shows three wilds on the lower rows of reels 2 and 3 joining a stack of radiation signs for a win of 150.00, or 5x the bet. The Free SpinsThree Bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 award 7 free spins. The rules describe the round in detail. Four wild symbols are placed in the corners of the grid, each with an x1 multiplier. With every spin they move one step towards the middle, and when all four meet in the centre their multipliers are added together, giving an x4 wild. After that the wilds move back out to the corners. On the 7th spin, the x4 wilds reach the corners and return to the centre once more, where their multipliers are added again to form an x16 wild. That is the heart of the game: the last spin carries the biggest multiplier. In our round the four x4 wilds stood on the second and fourth rows of reels 2 and 4 with three spins to go. That spin paid 210.00, taking the round to 240.00 – 8x the bet – with the final, x16 spin still ahead. Forty Lines on a 5x5 GridThe rules page draws all 40 paylines. Most of them run across a single row or zigzag between two neighbouring rows, and the last few cut diagonally from corner to corner or form wide V-shapes across the whole grid. With five rows instead of the usual three, a stack of one symbol on the first reels can feed a large number of lines at once, which is why the grouped wilds and the stacked premiums matter so much. The screen keeps the controls on the right: a spin button, a lightning button for faster spins and an autoplay counter, which showed 47 and later 34 remaining spins in our captures. The cash balance, the win and the bet sit along the bottom edge. How the Wild Multipliers BuildThe free spins round is short, but its logic is easy to follow. The four corner wilds start at x1 each. Every spin moves them one step closer together, and at the moment they meet, their four x1 values are added into a single x4 wild. They then split up and travel back to the corners carrying x4 each, and on the final spin the four x4 values meet again to make x16. That means the round is weighted towards its end. The early spins still pay whatever lines the wilds complete, but the largest multiplier arrives only on the 7th spin, so a quiet start does not say much about how the round will finish. SlotCatalog also lists fixed jackpots and a risk (double) game among the features. What the Session DidOur best base-game wins came from stacks of premium symbols meeting the wilds. A column of gas masks next to three wilds paid 315.00 (10.5x), and radiation signs across reels 1 to 4 paid 480.00 (16x). The balance moved from 5,025.05 at the start of the captures to 4,107.50 when the Bonus symbols landed. The Numbers to Keep in MindA 96.82% return is above the market average, and the 2,674x ceiling is solid for a 40-line game. The paytable caps a single line at 12.5x, so the big results depend on the multiplier wilds in the free spins, and above all on the x16 wild of the final spin. Who Should Play ItToxic Haze suits players who like a feature they can watch build: the moving wilds make every free spin a step towards the next multiplier. The dark, neon-lit theme is well made, and the 5x5 grid with 40 lines gives the base game plenty of small wins between bonus rounds.
