Alien Fruits 2 Overview

Alien Fruits 2 is a space-themed pay-anywhere slot from BGaming and the sequel to Alien Fruits. It plays on a 6x5 grid where eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the screen win, winning symbols vanish and new ones drop in, and the free spins add multipliers that keep adding up.

A Grid of Space Fruit

The reels float in deep space, with a red alien tentacle holding a lever on the right and a tray of fries on the left. The high symbols are round alien fruit with faces – a spiky pink one, an orange one with bulging eyes, a purple one with a leafy crown, a green one and a blue fish-like creature. The low symbols are coloured gems: red, blue, yellow and green.

The scatter is a small flying saucer marked SCATTER. In the bonus the grid splits in two, with a glowing portal in the middle where a strawberry creature sits inside a glass dome.

The split layout is more than decoration. With the centre of the grid taken by the portal, the symbols are divided into two blocks of three columns, and the multiplier symbols appear in the space between them rather than on the reels themselves. The layout returns to the full 6x5 grid once the free spins are over.

The Paytable

At a 12.50 bet, the paytable pays for 8–9, 10–11 and 12 or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid:

Refilling Reels

Every win clears the winning symbols, and new ones fall into the gaps. The refill continues as long as new wins form, so one spin can pay several times. In our capture of a triggering spin, nine red gems paid 8.00 while four saucer scatters landed on the same screen.

The game keeps a small log on the right of the grid that lists each paying cluster as it is removed – for example 9 red gems = 8.00 – so it is easy to follow what a cascade actually paid. Above the grid, a banner shows the win of the current step, and the total at the bottom adds every step of the refill sequence together.

Free Spins and the Portal

Four or more scatters in one spin start the free spins, and the game awarded us 15. BGaming’s rule is that three or more scatters during the round add 5 more, and our round grew exactly that way: the counter read 3/15, then 11/20, then 17/25 and finally 22/25.

In the free spins, multiplier symbols land in the portal between the two halves of the grid. Their values stay on the reels until the refill sequence ends, and the amounts are added together and applied to the wins. We saw x7, then x10 and later x16. BGaming states that the multiplier symbols range from x2 to x500.

How Our Round Played Out

The total win grew from 61.00 at spin 3 to 98.50 at spin 11, 257.50 at spin 17 and 275.00 at spin 22. By the end of the 25 spins the round stood at 425.00 FUN – 34x the bet. The x16 spin in the late part of the round paid 10.00 on its own, which shows how much the size of the underlying win matters: a large multiplier on a small gem cluster still pays modestly.
