Aztec Fire 2 Overview

A Temple in the Jungle

The reels stand in front of a jungle waterfall, with palm leaves on both sides and a stone brazier in each lower corner. The symbols are drawn in a warm, painted style: an Aztec priestess in a golden headdress, a warrior, a jaguar, a red-eyed tree frog and a toucan, with the card ranks from 10 to A below them.

A burning pyramid marked SCATTER and fiery orange bonus coins complete the set. When the Hold and Win round starts, the jungle gives way to a temple wall at dusk.

Six Fixed Jackpots

A column of six jackpot plaques runs down the left side, and every one of them is a fixed multiple of the bet. At our 10.00 bet they read MINI 100, MIDI 200, MINOR 400, MAJOR 1,000, GRAND 10,000 and ROYAL 100,000 – that is 10x, 20x, 40x, 100x, 1,000x and 10,000x.

The Royal plaque is the published 10,000x maximum, so the top jackpot is the ceiling of the game. Next to it a counter tracks progress towards the Royal: it stood at 7/40 early in one round and at 21/40 later on. Forty is the number of positions on the fully opened grid, so the Royal is the reward for filling every one of them.

The Hold and Win Round

The round is triggered by six bonus coins. The coins lock in place, you get 3 respins, and in the usual Hold and Win way a new coin resets the counter. The feature that sets the sequel apart is the stack of locked rows above the grid. Each one opens after a set number of coins and carries its own multiplier: the rows are labelled with the numbers 3, 8, 13 and 18 – the coin counts that open them – and with x2, x3, x5 and x10. The more coins you collect, the taller the grid grows, and a completely filled row pays its coins with that row’s multiplier.

Our round started with coins of 10.00, 15.00, 15.00 and 5.00 on the first reel, 10.00 and 40.00 on the third and the MIDI coin below them. Near the end the total-win counter stood at 120.00 (12x) while a blue orb showing 200.00 – the value of the MIDI prize – was being collected. Our capture ends there, so we do not know the exact final total.

The Base Game

The base game pays on 20 fixed lines from left to right. Our best line win was 42.50 (4.25x) from a stack of tree frogs on the first reels joined by priestesses, and another spin with a block of green Qs across four reels paid 25.00 (2.5x). Smaller results such as a 10.50 win with priestesses and a jaguar were more common.
