Arctic Duel

Arctic Duel is a festive winter slot from Hacksaw Gaming, made by its in-house label Bullshark Games and released on 19 October 2026. A grumpy snowman in an army helmet and a cheeky rabbit with a carrot cannon fight over a frozen grid of 5 reels and 3 rows with 243 ways to win. The RTP is 96.3%, the volatility is high, and the top prize is 10,000x the bet, which can be reached in every game mode.

A Snowball Fight On The Ice

The reels are blocks of blue ice set in a snowy pine forest. The snowman stands on the left with a snowball in his hand, and a small box above the grid shows the current Global multiplier. When the free spins start, the sky turns pink and orange, as if the duel goes on until sunset. The low-paying symbols are frozen card ranks from 10 to A. The higher-paying set is pure snowball-fight gear: a snowball grenade, a green mitten, a red TNT gift box, a crate of carrots and a snow shovel.

The rabbit is the FS Scatter, and the snowman in his helmet is the Walking Wild. So each side of the fight has its own job: the rabbit opens the bonus games, and the snowman builds up the multiplier.

Cascades And 243 Ways

Wins pay for matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, starting on the leftmost reel. After every win the winning symbols are removed and new ones drop in from above, and this goes on until no new win appears. One spin can therefore pay several times. The bet range in the demo runs from €0.10 to €2,000, but the limits at a real casino can be lower.

How The Walking Wild Works

The Wild can land in the base game and in the bonus games, and it substitutes for every paying symbol. Some Wilds carry a multiplier value. When such a Wild takes part in a win, its value is unlocked and added to the Global multiplier after that win is paid, so it boosts the next win of the cascade, not the current one. The additive values go from +1x up to +100x, and there are also multiplying values from x2 to x10, which can grow the Global multiplier very fast.

After a win, the Wild picks a direction, left or right, and walks one reel in that direction on the same row. It keeps walking with every new win, and when it steps over the edge of the grid, it is gone. If the screen has a win but the Wild is not part of it, the Wild stays where it is. Several Wilds can walk at the same time, and all of them are cleared when a new spin starts.

The Duel Itself

The name comes from the best moment of the game. When two Walking Wilds step onto the same cell, they collide and act as one Wild in the next win. At the same time, a random value from the same list is added to the Global multiplier straight away, and this time the new value already counts for the next win calculation. After the merged Wild takes part in a win, the two Wilds separate and walk on in their own directions. In the base game the Global multiplier starts at 1x and resets with every new spin, so a duel there is a short, exciting burst. Walking Wilds and FS Scatters never land on the same spin.

Carrot Heist And Arctic Showdown

There are two bonus games. Three FS Scatters start the Carrot Heist with 8 free spins, and four Scatters start the Arctic Showdown with 10 free spins. Both keep all the base game mechanics, but the Global multiplier becomes progressive and never resets until the round ends. A collector above the reels counts the Wilds that walk off the grid, and every two of them give one extra spin. In the Arctic Showdown the Global multiplier also starts at 5x, and one Wild is guaranteed on the first free spin.

Four Ways To Buy In

The Buy Bonus button opens four options. Two of them are FeatureSpins™, which stay active until you switch them off. BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost 3x the bet and make the bonus games five times more likely, and Sneaky Snatch FeatureSpins cost 50x and guarantee at least two Wilds on every spin, with no Scatters in this mode. The direct buys are the Carrot Heist for 100x and the Arctic Showdown for 250x. The menu rates the two cheaper and the 100x option as extreme volatility and the others as very high, and every buy has an RTP between 96.28% and 96.36%.

Our Turn On The Ice

We played at €2 per spin. The base game showed how the cascades work: a TNT box, two carrot crates and a snowball grenade were removed and new ice blocks fell in their place. Then we went for the big option and bought the Arctic Showdown for €500. Four rabbit Scatters landed, the bunny with his carrot cannon announced 10 free spins, and the round started with the Global multiplier already at 5x.

On the first spin the guaranteed Wild walked into a small win of €0.40, which the 5x multiplier lifted to €2. A few cascades later two Wilds stood side by side, the multiplier box showed 10x, and a small €0.80 combination paid €8. With nine spins still to go, the round had already collected €32. Small wins grow quickly here, because the multiplier only goes up during the bonus.

RTP, Volatility And Max Win

The game rules give an RTP of 96.3%, calculated over ten billion simulated rounds, and the RTP can come in other versions at some casinos. The volatility is high, and the bonus buys are labelled very high or extreme. The maximum win is 10,000x the bet; when it is reached, the round ends at once and the win is paid.

Is It Worth A Snowball?

Arctic Duel has a fun winter theme and a clear idea. The Walking Wilds make every cascade a little different, and the collisions give the game its name and its best moments. Players who like multipliers that only grow during the bonus will enjoy the Arctic Showdown, and the FeatureSpins give cheaper ways to try the features. The base game is calmer, so most of the action is saved for the free spins.
