Astrology Overview

Astrology is a video slot from KA Gaming with 25 fixed paylines, released on 29 October 2024. Bets run from 0.25 to 125 per spin, and the feature set covers free spins with extra spins available, mystery symbols, random additional wilds, a scatter and a standard wild.

The base game is set in a cluttered old observatory: wooden shelves, brass lamps and a potted plant frame the reels, with a heavy gilded border around the grid itself. The 25-line markers sit on red banners to either side.

The symbols follow the theme closely. The low end is made up of brass telescopes and armillary spheres, followed by a stone gargoyle globe. The premium set is a pair of fantasy portraits – a blue-haired sorceress and a violet-haired witch – and a fiery red demon. The wild is a golden sun medallion, and the scatter is a copper planet with the game’s logo written across it.

Six Reels, Not Five

One detail is worth flagging before anything else. The catalogue listing describes a 5x4 layout, but every capture we took shows six reels of four rows, and the paytable confirms it by paying for six of a kind. The lines screen shows all 25 patterns drawn on the same six-column grid.

That extra reel matters for the maths. Five-of-a-kind is a respectable hit here, but the real prizes in the table sit on the sixth column.

The Paytable

At the $125 bet the wild pays $750 for six, $200 for five, $100 for four and $50 for three. Six wilds on a line are therefore worth 6x the total stake.

The red demon and the blue-haired sorceress share the top of the regular table at $625 for six, $175 for five, $75 for four and $40 for three – exactly 5x the stake for a full line. The violet-haired witch and the gargoyle globe pay $175, $75, $50 and $25, and the two brass instruments close the table at $125, $50, $25 and $10.

The spread between the top and bottom of the table is narrow. The best regular symbol pays five times the worst one for six of a kind, which is typical of a game that expects its bigger wins to come from wilds and the feature rather than from single lines.

Measured against the line bet rather than the total stake, the figures look more generous. At $5 per line, six wilds pay 150x the line bet and six red demons pay 125x, while three of the cheapest instruments return exactly 2x the line bet. The table is linear across the bet range, so the same ratios hold at the $0.25 minimum.

The Scatter Is the Real Jackpot

The copper Astrology planet is where the table changes character. It pays anywhere on the grid: $250 for three, $1,250 for four, $2,300 for five and $12,500 for six. Three scatters return 2x the stake, and six return 100x – by far the largest figure anywhere on the paytable.

The 25 Paylines

The lines screen draws all 25 patterns on a six-by-four grid. The first four are the straight rows, and the rest mix shallow V shapes, inverted Vs and zigzags that step up and down between the rows.

Because there are four rows rather than three, the same symbol can sit on two different lines at once far more often than on a classic three-row grid, which is why several lines so often pay together here.

Mystery Symbols and Wilds

The feature list includes mystery symbols and random additional wilds, and the captures show both ideas at work. In our first screen the grid is dotted with glowing golden orbs that do not appear anywhere on the paytable, which is consistent with mystery symbols waiting to be revealed.

Another capture shows the grid saturated with sun medallions stamped WILD, covering much of the board, with paylines drawn across it in every direction. When that many wilds land, the narrow paytable matters much less, because almost every line can connect.

Line Wins in Practice

The footer names the line and the amount for each win. One spin reported line 10 wins $525.00 on its way to a total of $2,625.00 – 21x the stake – which the game announced as a Huge Win. Another reported line 19 wins $425.00 from a cluster of portrait symbols in the first three columns.

Those examples show that the headline wins are built from several lines paying together rather than from one outsized combination, which fits the modest per-line values in the table.

Our round was heavy with wilds from the start. With three spins still to play, the total bonus win already stood at $3,122.92 – about 25x the stake, on top of the $250 paid by the triggering scatters.

The free games use the same paytable as the base game, so the difference in the round comes almost entirely from how many wilds reach the grid. In our capture the sun medallions were spread across five of the six reels, and long diagonal lines were paying from one side of the board to the other.
