Golden Pride Overview

Golden Pride is a five-reel, three-row slot from BGaming with 243 ways to win, an RTP of 96%, a medium-high volatility rating and a maximum win of 15,360x the bet. It was released on 20 November 2024.

That ceiling is not a round number, and it is worth knowing where it comes from before anything else. The game’s multiplier meter tops out at x1024, and the best-paying symbol returns 15x the bet for five of a kind. Multiply the two and you get exactly 15,360x – the published maximum is simply the top symbol win at the top of the meter.

An Armoured Lion at the Castle Gate

The setting is a fantasy fortress: a stone castle with a long stairway on the right, blue sky and mountains behind the reels, and a heavy frame of dark wood and gold with red jewels set into the corners.

The cast is a menagerie of armoured animals. A polar bear in a blue hood and an eagle in green are the premium portraits, followed by a gilded spear, a blue steel shield and a green-jewelled gauntlet. The low symbols are the royals from A down to J, drawn as ornate gold letters that burst into flame when they form a win.

The star of the show is the lion knight – a towering figure in plate armour with a red cape and drawn sword, who takes over an entire reel when he appears.

Above the reels sits a red bar with a gold multiplier in the middle and X1024 printed at its right-hand end. This is the engine of the game, and our captures show it doubling as a sequence runs: x1, then x4, then x8, then x16.

The effect is easy to see in the numbers. Three flaming aces paid 8.00 on a normal spin; later, with the meter at x8, an ace combination paid 128.00. With the meter at x16, a set of queens and a lion on reel one returned 153.60 – close to ten times the stake from a group of the cheapest symbols in the game.

That is the whole character of Golden Pride in a sentence: the symbols themselves pay modestly, and the meter decides whether a win is small change or something worth talking about.

The Lion Knight and the Respin

When the lion knight lands, he expands to fill his reel and acts as a wild, and the game announces a RESPIN with a burst of fire across the screen. Our captures show him standing on reel four in one sequence and on reel one in another, so he is not tied to a single column.

The respin is where the meter climbs. The screen reading x1 sits directly before the RESPIN banner, and the following captures show x4 and x8 with the knight still in place – a sticky expanded wild that keeps the sequence alive while the multiplier builds.

Slot databases list this as a Gonzo-style mechanic combined with an expanding wild and respin, and that is a fair summary: each continuation raises the stakes rather than simply paying again at the same rate.

The Paytable

At the 16.00 bet the paytable reads as follows, for three, four and five of a kind:

Put against the stake, five polar bears are worth 15x and five eagles 12x, while five of the cheapest royals return exactly 1x. Because this is a 243-ways game, those figures are paid per way, so a symbol stacked on several rows multiplies its own value before the meter is applied at all.

Three Ways to Buy the Bonus

Golden Pride has an unusually specific Buy Bonus menu. Rather than one feature at one price, it sells the bonus on different reels, and the price rises sharply as the reel moves right:

Bonus on reel 1–3 for 192.00 (12x the bet), bonus on reel 4 for 800.00 (50x), and bonus on reel 5 for 3,200.00 (200x).

The logic is visible in the ways structure. A wild on one of the first three reels only helps combinations that already reach it, while a full wild reel near the right-hand end completes far more ways at once – so the game charges accordingly. The cheapest option is the one advertised on the red shield to the left of the reels, where the 192.00 FUN price is always on display.

Once bought, the shield changes to read BONUS ACTIVE, and our capture from that round shows the lion on reel one with the meter already at x16.

What the Session Did

The wins we recorded ranged from 8.00 for three aces to 153.60 in the bought bonus. Kings on the first three reels, stacked two high on the first two, paid 32.00 – four ways at 8.00 each, and the 128.00 ace win at x8 was the best result of the base game.

None of those came close to the headline figure, which is exactly what a medium-high volatility rating predicts. The balance moved from around 949 to 717 across the base-game captures, and the 3,200.00 reel-five buy was not something we tested.
