Fruits of Madness Overview

Fruits of Madness is a compact fruit slot from Felix Gaming, released on 12 January 2024. It plays on a 3x3 grid with 5 fixed paylines and wraps the classic cherries, plums, oranges, grapes and sevens in a gothic laboratory setting of red light and dark wood. Felix’s own game sheet lists an RTP of 96.53%, a volatility of 3 on its scale, stakes from €0.10 to €50 and a maximum exposure of 5,000x the total bet.

The Frame Around the Grid

What sets the game apart is not the reels but the ring of cells around them. Every position on this frame carries a label: multipliers such as x1, x2, x4, x6, x10, x12, x14 and x20, free-game boosts of +3 and +5, and blank X cells. On each spin one frame cell lights up, and that cell decides what happens to the result in the middle. Felix describes the multipliers as reaching up to x20 on every win, shown by the glowing orange frames.

Our Wins at an 80 Bet

All of our screenshots were taken at a bet of 80.00, which makes the line values easy to read:

  • Three sevens on line 3, with the golden W wild standing in for the first seven, paid 320.00 = 4x the bet.
  • Three plums on line 1 paid 80.00 = 1x with the frame showing x1.
  • Three plums on line 5 paid 240.00 – the same 80.00 line win, tripled by an x3 frame cell.
  • Three oranges on line 5 paid 192.00, a base win of 64.00 (0.8x) again tripled by x3.

The two x3 examples show exactly how the frame works: the multiplier applies to the whole line win, not to a single symbol.

The Five Paylines

With only nine positions the paylines are easy to follow. Our screenshots confirm three of them: line 1 runs across the middle row, line 3 along the bottom row and line 5 diagonally from the top-left corner to the bottom-right. The remaining two are the top row and the opposite diagonal, so every symbol on the grid sits on at least two lines and the centre cell sits on four. Wins need three matching symbols on a line, and a wild in any position completes them.

Stakes and Numbers

Felix publishes one RTP for the game, 96.53%, rather than several versions, and a volatility of 3 on its five-step scale – in the middle of the range. The bet runs from €0.10 to €50 per spin, and the 5,000x exposure means a top win of €250,000 at the maximum stake. On a 3x3 grid that ceiling can only be reached with the frame multipliers working on already strong line wins.

Wild and Mystery Symbols

The golden W is the wild and substitutes for all standard symbols. Felix adds a Mystery Symbol, an alchemical seal that can turn into any other symbol and create a win that was not on the reels a moment earlier. The wild does not replace the Mystery Symbol.

Free Games

Landing on a +3 or +5 frame cell adds free games, and a large FREE GAMES banner opens the round. The panel on the left counts the games that remain – our round started with 3 and later showed 4, 2 and 1 left – while the panel on the right shows the current multiplier. During the free games the same frame keeps spinning, so a multiplier cell can land on any of the spins.

Theme and Presentation

The fruit symbols appear as dark silhouettes until they form a win, when they light up inside a ring of flame. The effect keeps the small grid readable: at a glance you see which three symbols paid and which frame cell was selected.

Who It Is For

Fruits of Madness suits players who like classic three-reel fruit machines but want more than plain line wins. The frame of multipliers up to x20 and the +3/+5 free-game cells give each spin a second result to watch, and the 5,000x cap is high for a 3x3 game.
