Voodoo People Overview

Voodoo People is a Halloween-style video slot from BGaming, released on 18 September 2024. It plays on a 5x3 grid with 25 paylines, and the published figures are an RTP of 96.88%, medium-high volatility and a maximum win of 7,500x the bet. The stake range runs from 0.10 to 34 per spin.

A Voodoo Shop

The reels sit in a dark wooden shop lit by candles, with a voodoo priest in a feathered top hat and a crystal ball standing to the right of the grid. The symbols fit the theme: a stitched voodoo doll, a feathered bird mask, a green potion and a blue skull card as the premiums, with carved A, K, Q and J as the low symbols. Painted tiki masks and glowing green bonus coins complete the set.

A JACKPOT panel sits above the reels; during our session at a 32.00 bet it showed 20,000.00.

The Paytable

The paytable is printed in cash for the current bet. At 20.00 the voodoo doll is the top symbol: five pay 400.00 (20x), four 200.00 and three 20.00. The bird mask pays 320, 120 and 16, the potion 240, 80 and 12, and the skull card 160, 40 and 8.

The A pays 40, 16 and 8, and the K, Q and J share a line of 40, 16 and 4. The line wins are modest on their own, which is typical of a game where most of the 7,500x potential sits in the features.

In multiples of the bet, the voodoo doll pays 20x, 10x and 1x for five, four and three; the bird mask 16x, 6x and 0.8x; the potion 12x, 4x and 0.6x; and the skull card 8x, 2x and 0.4x. The A pays 2x, 0.8x and 0.4x, and the K, Q and J 2x, 0.8x and 0.2x.

The big jump is between three and four of a kind – three dolls return only the stake, four pay ten times as much. At a 32.00 bet the 20,000.00 jackpot shown above the reels was worth about 625x.

The Voodoo Respin

The main feature is the Voodoo Respin, announced with a voodoo doll standing in a glowing green circle. Green coins with cash values lock on the grid, and the other positions keep spinning for more. In one of our rounds at a 32.00 bet the grid held seven coins – six worth 20.00 and one worth 40.00.

A later capture from the same kind of round showed higher values on the board, including 120.00 and 200.00 coins, with a running total above the grid. SlotCatalog describes the round as a hold-and-win style feature with random multipliers, and the buy menu names it “Voodoo Respin with multipliers”.

Free Spins With High Symbols

The second feature is a round of 8 free spins. The intro screen shows the premium symbols lined up under the banner “Free Spins with Symbols”, and the buy menu describes it as free spins with high symbols – the low card ranks are left out, so every line win comes from the more valuable pictures.

In our bought round the first free spin alone paid 160.00, 8x the 20.00 bet, with several skull cards and two voodoo priests on the reels. By the time we opened the paytable during the round, the total win stood at 464.00, or 23.2x.

Buy Bonus and the Chance Button

The Buy Bonus menu offers both features directly. At a 20.00 bet the Voodoo Respin costs 1,600.00 – 80x – and the Free Spins cost 1,000.00, or 50x. The cheaper option is the free spins, which is worth knowing because the two rounds play very differently.

On the left of the screen there is also a Chance x2.5 panel. It was switched on during our bought round, but none of our captures shows what it costs or exactly what it changes, so we do not put a figure on it here.

Respin or Free Spins?

The two buy options are priced far apart: the Voodoo Respin at 80x and the Free Spins at 50x. Our bought free-spins round stood at 23.2x when we checked it with spins still to come, so it had not yet paid back its price at that point – a reminder that a bought round can easily return less than it costs.
