Viking Games Overview

Viking Games is a five-reel, three-row slot from Platipus with 243 ways, a 95% RTP, a medium volatility rating and a published ceiling of 4,710x. It was released on 23 September 2024.

All figures below were read from demo play at a $30.00 total bet. The footer states the format on every spin: PLAY 243 WAYS.

Four Vikings Around the Frame

The reels stand in a stone frame in a mountain pass, and in each corner of the screen stands a viking portrait: a bearded axeman, a shield-maiden with a bow, a white-bearded elder with a staff and a warrior in furs.

They are not decoration. Each of the four carries its own COLLECT and WIN counters, and in the feature each one gets a grid of their own.

The symbols are a shield, a horned helmet, a war hammer, an axe and a glowing gem, above card ranks. A longship marked WILD and a red SCATTER disc complete the set.

The Paytable

The values are quoted per line. The shield leads on 500 for five, 100 for four and 50 for three. The helmet pays 300, the hammer 200, the axe 100 and the gem 80.

The card ranks run from A at 75 down to 10 at 10 for five of a kind – so the spread between the best symbol and the worst is fifty to one, which is wide for a ways game.

In cash terms at the $30.00 stake, the base captures produced $40.00 (1.3x) from a pair of longship wilds and $300.00 (10x) from three of them with queens and jacks around.

Select Your Viking

Before the round begins the game asks a question, on a screen headed SELECT YOUR VIKING. Four portraits are offered, each with its own terms:

25 free spins with x2 wild multipliers; 20 free spins with x2 and x3 multipliers; 15 free spins with x3 multipliers; and 10 free spins with the largest multipliers. A fifth button reads SELECT RANDOM VIKING.

That is the classic trade – length against strength – but here it is presented as choosing a character rather than a number, and the multipliers are printed on each card before you commit.

The random button is the fifth option and the screen says nothing about what it does differently – only that it picks for you. If it carries different terms, the game does not print them.

Twenty-Three Free Spins

Three SCATTER discs trigger the round, and the counter that appears is larger than anything on the selection screen: FREE 23 SPINS. Most games in these batches award seven to fifteen, so a round in the twenties is generous however it was reached.

But the round does not start at full strength. Three of the four grids are closed behind stone gates, each carrying a countdown: YOUR VIKING ENTER THE BATTLE IN 4 SPINS, BATTLE IN 9 SPINS and BATTLE IN 14 SPINS.

So the vikings join one at a time. You begin with a single grid, and by the fifteenth spin all four are spinning simultaneously – four sets of 243 ways, each with its own counters.

The Battle

By the last few spins the screen is four grids in a two-by-two arrangement, with each viking’s COLLECT and WIN totals beside them. One capture, with three spins left, reads 12 and 157, 411 and 4, 10 and 127, 50 and 8.

Numbered wilds appear inside the round – tiles reading 2 WILD, 3 WILD and 5 WILD – so each viking’s grid is accumulating a different kind of progress.

The round then declares an outcome on a stone tablet: YOU ARE THE WINNER! with the split printed underneath – GAME WIN $0, BONUS WIN $1,255, TOTAL WIN $1,255.

Against the $30.00 stake that is 41.8x, and note what the breakdown says: the entire round’s value came from the bonus side, with nothing at all from the ordinary game win.

What That Structure Means

Four grids running at once is unusual, and it changes how the round should be read. The early spins are worth little – one grid, no help – and the value is concentrated in the last eight or nine spins when everything is open.

It also explains the 23-spin count. A round that only reaches full strength on spin fifteen needs to be long, or the structure would never pay off.

A third base result fills in the scale: three longship wilds stacked on the fourth reel with an axe and a hammer paid $60.00 – 2x. The longship is clearly the symbol that matters, and it arrives stacked more often than singly.

The Buy Button

A FEATURE BUY plate sits in the top-right corner throughout, so the round can be purchased rather than waited for. Its price does not appear in these captures.

There is no ante bet and no second tier visible on screen.

What the Session Did

The balance runs $9,953.00, then 9,454.00 and $9,394.00 across the captures – a fall of about $560, or 19x the stake, before the round paid its 41.8x back.

A long bet reference number is printed in the top-left corner of every spin, and the footer narrates the state in words: GOOD LUCK! between spins, CLICK COLLECT at the end of the round.

Who Should Play It

Viking Games is for players who want something structurally different. Four separate grids opening one at a time inside a 23-spin round is a genuinely original idea, the countdowns are printed in plain words, and the end-of-round breakdown separates game win from bonus win honestly.

The reservations are the 95% RTP and a base game where the best symbol pays 500 per line while the cheapest pays 10. Until the gates open, this is a very ordinary 243-ways slot.

Where to Play Viking Games

One important note on availability: this title was not listed at any of our six partner casinos when we checked on 22 September 2026. They carry more than thirty other viking-themed slots between them – from Yggdrasil, Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play and Novomatic – but not this one.

If that changes we will update this page. In the meantime the demo above is the way to see it.

You can browse other Platipus titles at 7gold Online Casino, which carries the studio’s Lord of the Keys and Piedra Del Sol Deluxe. There’s a unique casino bonus offer of 400% up to £1500 for a limited time.
