Plinko Overview

Plinko from GameArt is a ball-drop game released on 18 June 2024. Balls fall from the top of a triangle of pegs and bounce left or right until they land in one of the multiplier pockets at the bottom. GameArt’s own demo configuration lists an RTP of 96.02% and a maximum win of 2,501x; SlotCatalog gives bets from $0.10 to $200 and describes the volatility as adjustable.

Rows and Volatility

Two settings shape every drop. The rows selector runs from 8 to 16: more rows mean a wider board and more pockets. The volatility selector offers Low, Medium and High, which changes how the multipliers are spread between the centre and the edges. With more rows a ball passes more pegs before it lands, so the range between the smallest and the largest pocket grows; in general, fewer rows and lower volatility keep results closer to the stake, while more rows and higher volatility push more of the value into the rare outer pockets.

On 8 rows at Medium volatility the pockets read 15.4x, 3.2x, 1.1x, 0.6x, 0.5x, 0.6x, 1.1x, 3.2x, 15.4x. The board is symmetrical: the centre pockets return less than the stake and the two outer pockets pay the most. On 16 rows the row of pockets becomes much longer and the outer values higher, but the labels are too small in our captures to read reliably.

How the Numbers Add Up

Each peg sends the ball left or right with equal probability, so on 8 rows the nine pockets are reached in the proportions 1, 8, 28, 56, 70, 56, 28, 8 and 1 out of 256. The centre pocket catches about 27.3% of balls, the two 0.6x pockets about 21.9% each, and each 15.4x edge pocket only about 0.39% – roughly one ball in 256.

Multiplying those chances by the Medium multipliers gives an expected return of exactly 96.02%, the same figure GameArt publishes. It is a useful check that the board works as described: the small returns in the middle are frequent, the large ones at the edges rare.

Manual and Auto Play

The bet panel has a stake field with minus and plus buttons, Min and Max shortcuts, a large BET button (you can also hold the space bar to keep dropping) and a switch between Manual and Auto. A turbo button speeds up the drops.

What the Session Showed

We played at $10 per ball. On 8 rows the recent results column on the right showed x3.2 and x1.1; a burst of several balls produced x0.5, x1.1, x0.6, x0.5, x3.2 and x1.1, and the balance moved from $483 to $420. On 16 rows the results were x0.9, x0.9, x0.9, x0.5, x0.6, x1.1 and x0.6, and the balance stood at $375.

That is the typical shape of Plinko: most balls settle near the middle and return part of the stake, while the big multipliers wait at the edges.

Who Should Play It

Plinko suits players who like simple, fast rounds and want to control the risk themselves through rows and volatility. The demo on this page is GameArt’s official version.
