Hawaiitopia Overview

Hawaiitopia is a cluster pays slot from Red Rake with an RTP of 95.30%, a medium volatility rating and a published ceiling of 1,000x. It was released on 30 January 2025.

The 95.30% return is on the low side and worth noting before anything else. All figures below were read from demo play at a 10.00 bet.

Smiling Fruit on a Cartoon Island

The setting is a bright cartoon Hawaii: fat palm fronds leaning in from both sides, orange flowers in the foreground and a pale blue sky behind a wide grid of tiles.

The symbols are holiday objects with faces on them – a grinning strawberry, a pineapple, a red fruit, a blue berry, a pink flamingo ring, a pineapple in sunglasses, an ice cream, a cupcake and a cocktail.

A carved tiki mask stands to the left of the grid with a multiplier printed on it, and a green W tile serves as the wild. BONUS tiles appear scattered across the board in several captures.

The Tiki Mask Is a Rising Multiplier

The mask is the most important thing on the screen and the easiest to miss. It carries a value that changes between captures: X1 in some, X2 in others, X3 in another.

That pattern – a multiplier climbing while clusters keep landing – is the signature of a tumbling game. Winning clusters clear, new tiles drop, and the mask steps up for each successive clear within the same spin.

The captures bear it out. Several show a running win total in the footer alongside a different, smaller figure in the middle of the grid: 8.00 over a footer reading 6.26, 20.00 over 31.30, 30.00 over 34.50.

Those are individual cascade steps against a spin total that is still counting. A single spin on this game is a sequence, not an event.

The Paytable Runs on Cluster Size

There are no lines here. The paytable lists each symbol against cluster-size bands, with 12 or more at the top.

At the 10.00 bet the strawberry leads: twelve or more pays 1,000.00, which is 100x the stake. The pineapple pays 500.00 (50x), the red fruit 250.00 (25x) and the blue berry 200.00 (20x).

Below those the flamingo ring, the sunglasses, the cupcake and the cocktail fall away sharply – the cheapest top-band values are in the tens rather than the hundreds.

So the spread across the top band alone is wide: the strawberry is worth five times the pineapple and a great deal more than anything at the bottom of the table.

Hold that 100x against the published ceiling of 1,000x and the structure is clear. The best single cluster in the game is a tenth of the maximum – the rest has to come from the tiki mask and from several clusters clearing in one spin.

The W wild is drawn as a green leaf tile and appears singly rather than stacked, which on a cluster grid matters: a wild bridges two halves of a shape that would otherwise not connect.

What the Grid Paid

The captured spin totals read 3.37, 6.26, 16.23, 31.30, 34.50 and 71.00.

Against the 10.00 bet that is 0.34x, 0.63x, 1.62x, 3.13x, 3.45x and 7.1x.

The fractional endings are the tell. A win of 6.26 or 16.23 does not come from a single printed value – it is several clusters and a multiplier settling together, which is exactly what a tumbling game produces.

The best of them, the 71.00, landed on a grid carrying a column of blue berries, two W wilds and the mask at X3. Seven times the stake with the multiplier at three is the shape of a good ordinary spin here.

None of our captures produced a twelve-tile cluster of the strawberry, which on a grid this size is a substantial block of the board.

BONUS tiles turn up in three of our captures – one in the top-right corner, two more at the bottom left of a later board – so the round they trigger is collected across the grid rather than on any line.

What the Session Did

The balance runs 980.00, 940.00, 849.50, down to 462.00, up to 722.50, back to 462.00 and finally 732.50.

That is a swing of about twenty-seven times the bet between the low and high points of a short session – lively for a medium rating, and consistent with a game where one spin can chain several clears together.

The drift is downward overall, which is what a 95.30% return does over a run of spins that mostly pay under the stake.

Who Should Play It

Hawaiitopia is for players who want cluster pays with a visible multiplier and are happy watching a single spin resolve in stages. The tiki mask is a good piece of design – it sits outside the grid where it cannot be missed, and it tells you what the current cascade is worth without a separate panel.

The artwork is cheerful without being cluttered, and the grid is large enough that clusters form regularly rather than occasionally.

The reservations are the 95.30% return, which is low, and a ceiling of 1,000x that is modest for a tumbling game – the best single cluster on the paytable reaches only a tenth of it.
