How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Sweet Bombs Overview

Sweet Bombs is a pay-anywhere slot from Funky Games with a 96% RTP. It was released on 24 February 2025.

Neither a volatility rating nor a maximum win is published for this title, and we have not invented either. All figures below were read from demo play at stakes of 160.00 and 200.00.

A Candy World, Then Candy Space

The base game sits on a pastel sky with lollipop trees and swirls of cotton candy behind the grid, all of it soft-focus so the sweets on the reels stay sharp.

The free spins move somewhere better: a starfield full of candy planets – striped, swirled and glazed – with the round’s title floating over a floating island of frosting.

The symbols are fruit and confectionery: watermelon, strawberry, banana, orange, blueberries, a pink heart, an orange gem, a pink jelly and a green cube.

Three Bands, Up to Thirty

The grid is six columns by five rows, and the paytable’s top band tells you so: the three bands are 8–9, 10–11 and 12–30. Thirty is every position on the board.

For the watermelon the ladder runs 96, 240 and 480. The strawberry follows at 80, 160 and 320; the banana at 64, 128 and 240.

Below them the orange pays 192 at the top band and the green cube 64, and there are two gummy-bear scatters – an orange SCATTER and a rainbow SUPER SCATTER, both lettered on the tile.

Note the shape: from the green cube’s 16 at the bottom band to the watermelon’s 480 at the top is a spread of thirty to one, and the two steps within each symbol are each roughly a doubling. It is a very evenly graded table.

The Multiplier Ladder

A row of candy planets runs across the top of the grid, each carrying a multiplier, and the row climbs as you play. One capture reads x14 x15 x16 x17 x18; another, later, reads x26 x31 x34 x41 x46 x51.

The leftmost slot is empty in both – the active position – so the ladder advances along the row rather than resetting. Those are the highest multipliers on any game in these batches.

Double Chance Costs Exactly a Quarter

A toggle sits beside the buy button reading DOUBLE CHANCE TO WIN FEATURE, with an ON/OFF switch.

The arithmetic is visible on screen. With it OFF the stake field reads 160,00; with it ON, 200,00. That is precisely 25% added to the bet – the same price BGaming charges for the equivalent control on Wild Card Gang.

Two Tickets, Two Ladders

The BUY BONUS menu offers two cards, and what distinguishes them is not the number of spins but where the multiplier ladder starts.

YUMMY is marked x2 UP and costs 9,600. HEAVENLY is marked x5 UP and costs 19,200 – exactly double.

Against the 160.00 stake those are 60x and 120x. You are paying twice as much to begin the ladder two and a half times higher, which is at least a comprehensible trade.

Heavenly Free Game

The round we reached is the dearer one, and it announces itself by name: HEAVENLY FREE GAME – YOU WON 10 FREE SPINS, over the candy-planet starfield, with TAP TO CONTINUE beneath.

What the Reels Paid

The grid tumbles, and a plate above the reels reads TUMBLE WIN with the running figure beneath. The best capture in the set is a TUMBLE WIN of 1,136.00 at the 200.00 stake – 5.7x – from a board of strawberries, hearts and gems with the ladder sitting at x14.

Read the 5.7x against the ladder reaching x51 and the shape of the game is clear: the tumbles produce steady, ordinary totals, and the multiplier row is what turns one of them into something worth having.

Who Should Play It

Sweet Bombs is for players who want a tumbling candy grid with an unusually ambitious multiplier ladder. Two buy tiers that differ by where the ladder starts, a double-chance toggle whose cost is visible in the stake field, and a paytable graded in three even bands are all clearly presented.

The reservations are the missing volatility rating and maximum win, and a 120x top ticket on a game that does not publish either. The ladder reaching x51 in our captures is the argument for it; the 5.7x tumble win is the argument for caution.
