Link&Win Ladder Feature

This feature triggers in the base game or during free spins when at least 3 bonus symbols hit on reels 2 to 4. When that happens, the triggering bonus symbols are held, and 3 respins are awarded on the middle three reels. If new bonus symbols hit, they are locked in position and set the respins back to 3. When respins end or the grid is filled an award is made. This equates to 1x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 20x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 1,000x, or 5,000x the bet when 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 bonus symbols are in view, respectively.

Free Spins

To get into free spins, you’ll need 3 scatter symbols to land on reels 2 to 4 (awarding 1x the bet). Then, the Free Spins Randomizer spins to award 8-15 free spins, a multiplier of x2-x5, and a bonus level density of 1-4. Spin Spin Sugar was a game which might have been a clone, but then again, it might have just felt like that because a lot, maybe all, of its gaming features have appeared elsewhere in one form or another. On a feature level, it’s very close to a previous Slingshot Studios game called Jade Shuriken, which dropped about half a year or so back before Spin Spin Sugar did. However, a number of changes have been made since then. As well as one or two feature tweaks, Spin Spin Sugar is a lot more volatile than Jade Shuriken was and packs twice the potential, which is kind of interesting considering Jade Shuriken was an action-packed slot about battling warriors.

Jade Shuriken was a more strikingly memorable game visually, though, with neat, animated cartoon-style graphics and a greater original overall feel. Spin Spin Sugar, by comparison, is much more; how can we put it? Commonplace? Confectionary slots aren’t exactly in short supply, and Spin Spin Sugar doesn’t do a heck of a lot to make it really stand out from the pack.

It doesn’t do anything despicable either, though, and neatly integrates its free spins round with the ever-popular bonus symbol/cash prize ladder mechanic that has been prevalent for a while. Factor in the free spins line multiplier, variable bonus symbol density, not to mention the Link&Win slant to the cash prize ladder feature, and there’s likely to be a level of entertainment to be had here for certain sweet-toothed gamblers. Maybe swap expectations of something ground-breaking with a less ambitious serving of proven features in an agreeable confectionery setting, and Spin Spin Sugar might be worth a try.
