Honeylock’s Pots Overview

Honeylock’s Pots is a fairy-tale video slot from Quickspin, released on 12 April 2026. It plays on 5 reels and 4 rows with 30 fixed paylines, and it borrows its cast from the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. The heroine, Honeylock, is the wild, while the three bears sit above the reels, each one guarding a honey pot that stands for one of the game’s three bonus features.

The game rules list a theoretical payout of 96.03%, which rises to 96.23% with the Extra Bet switched on. The volatility is rated medium and the maximum win is capped at 2,500x the bet. A Buy Feature with three price levels and a four-tier jackpot ladder complete the package.

Theme and Graphics

The reels are set in a wooden frame on a sunny meadow, with green hills and a blue sky behind them. The symbols come straight from the bears’ cottage: a bed, a chair, a bowl of porridge and a little red house, alongside card ranks A, K, Q and J drawn on pale wooden planks. Honeylock herself appears as a golden-haired girl framed with a WILD banner.

On the left side of the screen the jackpot ladder is always visible: MEGA x2500, MAJOR x150, MINOR x30 and MINI x10. Above the reels the three bears hold their pots, labelled PRIZEPOT, GRABBER and EXPANDER, so you can see at a glance which features are waiting to be unlocked.

The Honey Symbols

The heart of the game is a set of three special HONEY symbols, shaped as card suits: a diamond, a heart and a club. Only one of each can land at a time, and every one of them gives a random chance of starting the Bonus Game with its own feature attached:

  • Diamond – the GRABBER feature
  • Heart – the EXPANDER feature
  • Club – the PRIZEPOT feature

All three can land on the same base-game spin, which starts the bonus with every feature active. The animation in which the honey flies up into the bears’ pots is only decoration – the rules state that the feature is decided independently of it.

Honeylock Expand and Honey Boost

Two random modifiers keep the base game moving. With Honeylock Expand, a landing wild may grow to cover its whole reel, and if one wild expands, every other wild on the screen expands with it. Since the wild appears on all five reels, two or three expanding wilds can turn a quiet grid into several paying lines at once.

Honey Boost is the game’s second chance. If a honey symbol lands but the bonus does not trigger, Honeylock may step in and start the matching feature anyway. In practice this means a lone diamond, heart or club is never quite wasted.

The Bonus Game

The Bonus Game is a hold-and-respin round with coins. It starts with 3 spins, and every new symbol that lands anywhere on the screen resets the counter to 3. New coins and special symbols stay in place for the rest of the round, which ends when the spins run out. At that point the game pays the sum of every value on the grid.

Coins carry random values of 0.2x, 0.4x, 0.6x, 0.8x, 1x, 2x, 4x or 25x the bet. The feature symbols only appear if their honey symbol was part of the triggering spin; any feature you did not bring in can still be activated later in the round when the matching honey symbol lands.

Grabber

The Grabber symbol adds the values of all other symbols in the unlocked play area to its own value when it lands. Late in a long round, when the grid is full of coins, a single Grabber can collect most of the prize in one go.

Prizepot

Every Prizepot symbol moves the Prizepot meter one step forward, and some steps carry a prize that is added to the symbol. The meter has 8 steps: step 2 awards the MINI, step 4 the MINOR, step 6 the MAJOR and step 8 the MEGA – the 2,500x top prize shown on the jackpot ladder.

Expander

Part of the bonus grid starts locked. The Expander symbol unlocks 2 to 5 locked positions, up to a maximum of 15 extra spots across all Expanders. The 8th and the 15th unlocked spot also add one life each, raising the respin counter to a maximum of 5 lives.

Honey’s Luck and the Maximum Win

The game is capped at 2,500x the base bet. When the total win of the base game and the Bonus Game together reaches that figure, Honey’s Luck triggers: the round ends immediately and the full 2,500x is paid. It is the same value as the MEGA jackpot, so the top step of the Prizepot meter is also the game’s ceiling.

Extra Bet and Buy Feature

The Extra Bet can be switched on in the base game only. It guarantees that the Honeylock Expand feature activates whenever a wild lands, and it lifts the theoretical return to 96.23%. Extra Bet and the Buy Feature cannot be active at the same time, and the Extra Bet may not be offered in every market.

The Buy Feature has three levels:

  • 30x the bet – the Bonus Game with at least one feature (RTP 96.33%)
  • 50x the bet – the Bonus Game with at least two features (RTP 96.53%)
  • 85x the bet – the Bonus Game with all three features (RTP 96.73%)

As usual, the more expensive the buy, the higher its return. Not every level is available in every market.

What We Saw on the Reels

Our demo session ran at a €5.00 total bet. One base-game spin landed three Honeylock wilds on the bottom row and paid €5.50, a typical small line win. On another spin a heart and a club landed together in the middle of the grid, with the honey shooting up towards the bears’ pots – exactly the moment when the game decides whether the bonus starts.

The base game is steady rather than explosive, which fits the medium volatility rating. The bigger prizes are reserved for the Bonus Game, where the coins, the Grabber and the jackpot meter can stack up over a long run of respins.

Who Should Play It

Honeylock’s Pots suits players who like hold-and-respin bonuses with clear goals. The three features are easy to follow, the jackpot ladder is always on screen, and the medium volatility keeps the session from swinging too hard. If you prefer free spins with climbing multipliers, this is not that kind of game – but as a coin-collecting fairy tale it is well put together.
