Fortune Five Overview

Fortune Five is a classic fruit slot from Gamebeat, released on 15 March 2021. It runs on 5 reels and 3 rows with only 5 paylines, and it adds two things to the traditional fruit machine: a star scatter that pays anywhere, and three fixed jackpots won with the red seven.

A Fruit Machine on Fire

The design is deliberately simple: a red panel with a gold frame, flames licking up from the bottom of the screen and three coloured jackpot plaques above the reels – MEGA in red, MAJOR in purple and MINI in green. Winning lines are drawn in gold, and coins burst out of the reels on every payout.

The symbols are the classic set: cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes and watermelons, plus the red 7 and the gold star. There is no wild and no free spins round.

The Paytable at 50.00

The paytable shows cash values for the current bet. The watermelon and the grapes are the top fruits: five pay 5,000.00 (100x), four pay 2,000.00 (40x) and three pay 500.00 (10x).

The plum, orange and lemon share a lower line: 2,000.00 (40x), 500.00 (10x) and 200.00 (4x). The cherry pays the same for three to five, and it is the only symbol that also pays for two: 50.00, or 1x the bet.

The Star Scatter

The gold star is the scatter and pays in any position: 2,500.00 for five, 500.00 for four and 100.00 for three – that is 50x, 10x and 2x the total bet. The old description of this game called the five-star prize “x2500”, but the paytable shows it is 2,500 on a 50.00 bet, or 50x.

The Three Jackpots

The red seven is not a line symbol in the usual sense. The rules say the jackpots are awarded when three, four or five sevens land on one line from left to right, and each prize is a fixed multiple of the total bet:

5 sevens – MEGA = total bet x 1,000, 4 sevens – MAJOR = total bet x 200 and 3 sevens – MINI = total bet x 20. At 50.00 the plaques read exactly 50,000.00, 10,000.00 and 1,000.00, and they rescale whenever you change the bet.

So the jackpots are not progressive and not shared: they are simply the seven’s paytable, shown in large print above the reels.

What the Session Paid

Our first captured win was two cherries on a curved line for 50.00 (1x). Three lemons paid 200.00 (4x), a spin led by three cherries returned 250.00 (5x), and three watermelons and three grapes each paid 500.00 (10x).

The best capture was a BIG WIN of 1,000.00 – 20x the bet. Over the session the balance moved between 9,500 and 10,650, the sort of movement you expect from a five-line game where three of a kind already pays 4x to 10x.
