Book of Scorpio Overview

Book of Scorpio is an Egyptian book slot developed by the Redstone studio and distributed under the Foxi (Fazi) brand. It was released on 2 May 2024 and plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 10 fixed paylines. Bets run from 0.60 to 100 per spin.

Redstone describes the game in one sentence: land three books to trigger the bonus round, which reveals two expanding symbols instead of the usual one. On top of that classic book mechanic, three progressive jackpot meters sit above the reels, so the game combines a familiar formula with a jackpot layer.

Theme and Design

The reels stand in the middle of a sunlit temple hall, framed by carved sandstone columns covered in hieroglyphs. The golden Book of Scorpio logo crowns the screen, and the red book with the golden scorpion on its cover is the symbol everything revolves around. The premium symbols are an explorer, a pharaoh and a pair of Egyptian god statues, while the low symbols are jewelled card ranks from 10 to A.

Winning lines are drawn as thin golden threads across the reels, and every symbol that takes part in a win lights up in its own frame. The effect is clean and easy to follow even when several lines pay at once.

The Progressive Jackpots

Directly under the logo, three jackpot meters are always visible: a diamond, a gold and a silver jackpot. They grow while you play – in our demo session the diamond jackpot climbed from 15,800.45 to 16,991.55 FUN and the gold one from 1,540.35 to 2,493.24 FUN within a few spins. The silver meter moved in the same way at a lower level, around 320–397 FUN. The jackpot conditions are not explained in the paytable screens we captured, so we cannot say exactly what triggers them.

Symbols and Payouts

The paytable ranks the explorer as the top symbol: five of them pay 1,000 FUN at the default stake shown, and together with the pharaoh and the god statues he also pays for just two on a line. The book itself pays 500 for five, the pharaoh 400 and the god statues 150. Among the card ranks, A and K pay 30 for five, while Q, J and 10 pay 20.

The Book Symbol

As in every book slot, the book plays two roles. It substitutes for the other symbols on a line and it is also the scatter that opens the bonus round. One of our spins shows this clearly: a book landed on the fourth reel, stood in for a J and completed a line that ran into the jack on reel five. Together with a second line the spin paid 200 FUN on a 20 FUN stake – ten times the bet.

Free Spins with Two Expanding Symbols

Three or more books trigger the bonus. Before the round starts, the game picks the special symbols that will expand to fill their reels whenever they land in a paying position – and here there are two of them, which is the main difference from the standard book formula. Two expanding symbols give the round far more chances to cover the screen, and an expanded explorer or pharaoh can pay on all ten lines at once.

Outside the bonus, the base game pays steady small and medium wins. We recorded a 40 FUN win from crossing K and J lines, and a 50 FUN win when four green-jewelled queens landed across the top row on a 20 FUN stake. With only ten lines the hits are not constant, but the high-value symbols pay well when they connect.

RTP, Volatility and Max Win

Redstone has not published the RTP, volatility or maximum win for this edition, and SlotCatalog lists them as N/A as well. The studio also released a separate Book of Scorpio Double Chance edition two weeks later, which is listed at a 96.2% RTP, high volatility and a 5,456x maximum win – but those figures belong to that version, not to this one.

Our Verdict

Book of Scorpio does not reinvent the book slot, but it improves it in two practical ways: the bonus round works with two expanding symbols instead of one, and three progressive jackpots keep something growing on every spin. The polished temple setting and clear line animations make it pleasant to play, and the game is a good fit for fans of the classic Egyptian book formula.
