Blackbeard – Battle of the Seas is a pirate slot developed by Bulletproof Games and released on Yggdrasil’s platform on 7 September 2023. Symbols and Paytable

The reels sit on the deck of a ship with Blackbeard standing beside them. The four card suits are the lower symbols, and the premium set is, in ascending order, a green parrot, a skull in a red bandana, a treasure chest and the game logo. Wins need three matching symbols from the leftmost reel along a line, except for the logo, which already pays for two: 0.2x, 2.5x, 10x and 25x the bet for 2, 3, 4 and 5. Flying Skulls

During base spins, three skulls can fly over the reels at random. You pick one, and it decides the modifier for that spin:

• 5 of a Kind – at least one five-of-a-kind combination is guaranteed.
• Super Wild – 1 to 3 Super Wilds are added to random reels and expand to cover them.
• Bonus Game – three bonus symbols are added, which starts a bonus round.

Triggering the Bonus

Blackbeard himself is the bonus symbol, and he lands only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Three of them turn into pick symbols, and the one you choose reveals which bonus you play: the Sea Battle or the Super Spins.

The Sea Battle

The Sea Battle has no fixed number of spins. Blackbeard’s ship takes on four captains in turn – Bill Bones, Captain Scallywag, Admiral McKraken and Long John Silver – and the round lasts until all four are beaten or your own ship goes down. Each enemy has 3 health, and you start with 7. Every Blackbeard Wild on the reels fires one cannon shot at the enemy, and every enemy wild hits your ship. Your health does not reset between battles, and when both kinds of wild land together, Blackbeard fires first.

Each pirate you sink raises the win multiplier: from 1x to 2x after Bill Bones, 3x after Scallywag and 5x after McKraken. Beating Long John Silver as well pays an extra 50x the stake and ends the round. Our screenshots show the “Pirate Defeated – Reel Wins x2” scroll after the first captain went down, and a spin against Scallywag that paid €32.00 with the x2 active.

What It Takes to Win the Battle

The health numbers make the Sea Battle easy to follow. Sinking all four captains takes 12 hits – three per ship – while your ship can absorb only 6 and goes down on the 7th. In other words, you need twelve Blackbeard Wilds before seven enemy wilds arrive. Because Blackbeard fires first when both land on the same spin, a close fight can still end in your favour, and each captain you remove makes the rest of the round pay more through the rising multiplier.

The Treasure Tally

At the end of our battle the summary board listed each opponent and the treasure taken from them:

• Bill Bones – sunk, €2.60 looted.
• Captain Scallywag – sunk, €34.00 looted.
• Admiral McKraken – sunk, €30.00 looted.
• Long John Silver – escaped, with €35.00 looted before the end.

The four amounts add up to €101.60, and the game closed the feature with a “Kraken Win!” of exactly that sum – 101.6x the stake. Because Long John Silver escaped, the 50x reward for beating all four was not paid.

Super Spins

If the pick reveals Super Spins, the three triggering symbols turn into sticky Super Wilds that cover reels 1, 3 and 5 completely, and a random number of 3 to 10 free spins is awarded. With three full wild reels in place, every spin needs only matching symbols on reels 2 and 4 to complete a line.

Theme and Presentation

The base game is played on the ship’s deck, with Blackbeard in his feathered hat watching from the right. The Sea Battle moves out to open water: Blackbeard’s galleon sits on one side of the reels, the enemy captain’s ship on the other, and health bars under both ships track the fight.
