Aztec Riches Overview

Aztec Riches is a cluster-pays slot from Eurasian Gaming, released on 2 October 2024, and the studio describes it as its very first 8x8 grid game. SlotCatalog lists an RTP of 95%, low-to-medium volatility and a betting range from 0.08 to 24; no maximum win is published, so we do not quote one.

The feature list is long for a Eurasian Gaming title: four different wilds tied to four locations, cascading wins, four Achievement Bonus features, a Buy Feature, a Fast-Play option and, according to SlotCatalog, sticky wilds, symbol swaps, multipliers and a gamble.

A Cartoon Aztec Capital

The grid is set in a golden frame in front of stepped pyramids, green jungle and blue sky. A small Aztec warrior in an eagle helmet, holding a spear and a round shield, stands to the right of the reels and reacts to your wins, while a treasure chest and a win log fill the panel on the left.

The premium symbols are three Aztec faces in blue, pink and green headdresses, a feathered serpent and a jaguar. The low symbols are a green parrot and carved A, K, Q and T-shaped glyph tiles.

How the Clusters Pay

Instead of paylines, Aztec Riches pays for clusters of four or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically. The provider notes a twist: rather than dropping in from above, new symbols are revealed all at once from underneath the grid. The panel on the left lists each paying cluster of a spin, so you can follow how a sequence built up.

The Paytable

At our 4.00 USD stake the three Aztec faces share the top line: 500.00 for a cluster of 12 or more, 100.00 for 10–11, 50.00 for 9, 25.00 for 8, 12.50 for 7, 4.00 for 6, 3.00 for 5 and 1.50 for 4. A 12-symbol face cluster is therefore worth 125x the total bet.

The feathered serpent and the jaguar also reach 100.00 for 10+ but top out at 400.00 for 12 or more; in the smaller sizes they pay 10.00 for 7, 5.00 for 6, 2.50 for 5 and 1.00 for 4.

Four Locations, Four Wilds

Every spin is tied to one of four locations – field, jungle, lake and city – and a large golden sun wheel with four pictures decides which one is active. Each location brings its own wild, which substitutes for every symbol and comes with its own trick.

In our captures the pyramid wild said that up to 11 wilds can appear and that symbols turn wild or are destroyed from the edges of the grid. The blue temple wild of the lake scene placed up to 12 wilds randomly on the grid. Once wilds are on the board, several clusters can share them in the same spin.

Cluster Values in Multiples

In multiples of the 4.00 USD stake, a 12+ face cluster pays 125x, a 10–11 cluster 25x and a nine-symbol cluster 12.5x. The small clusters are modest: four faces return 0.375x and five faces 0.75x, so the base game relies on several clusters landing together, or on wilds joining groups into much bigger ones.

That makes the wild locations central to the game. A single well-placed batch of 11 or 12 wilds can link separate groups of the same symbol, and every step up in cluster size moves the payout into a much higher row of the table.

Achievement Bonus Features

A counter under the warrior tracks symbols removed by winning clusters, and it read 0/33 throughout our captures. When 33 or more symbols have been removed, one of four Achievement Bonus features triggers: Tarantula, Centipede, Macaw or Snake, each with its own way of boosting the grid. According to the provider, the Aztec Riches themselves wait deep inside the city of Tenochtitlan.

The Achievement counter and the wild locations work side by side: every paying cluster removes symbols from the grid, so a spin with many wilds and several clusters also brings the Achievement Bonus features closer. The provider keeps the details of the four animal features as a surprise, and we only saw the counter itself in our captures.

Power Play: Buy Feature and Fast Play

The Buy-Bonus Feature cost 14.00 USD at our 4.00 USD stake, 3.5x the bet, and the price is shown permanently in the Buy Feature panel. The Fast-Play Feature plays a chosen number of rounds automatically – 100 in our capture – and stops when a bonus is triggered.

How It Plays

With 64 positions on the grid, each spin shows a lot of symbols at once, and the win log on the left is useful for seeing exactly which groups paid. The sun wheel, the location intros and the warrior’s animations keep the pace lively, while the Fast-Play option lets you skip ahead if you only want to see the results. SlotCatalog’s low-to-medium volatility rating matches our session, in which small and medium wins arrived often.

In our captures, most spins ended with at least one small cluster of low symbols. The value then comes from how many clusters land together and how far the wilds can stretch the premium groups, which is exactly what the 21.00 USD sequence in our session showed.

Aztec Riches is aimed at players who enjoy tile-matching and cluster games rather than classic reels. The four wild types, the Achievement Bonus features and the cheap feature buy give plenty to discover, and the 95% RTP listed by SlotCatalog puts it in line with the studio’s other releases.

Our Session in Numbers

Our first spin paid 2.50 USD for two small clusters, one of Js and one of Aztec faces. With wilds on the grid the wins grew: 6.50 USD after the pyramid wilds arrived, 10.50 USD in a later wild round and 21.00 USD as the best sequence of our session – just over 5x the stake, built from seven separate clusters.
