A Queen by the Fjord

The reels stand against a sky of white clouds, with a waterfall on the right and a queen in a golden dress watching from the left. The symbols are drawn in a rich, painterly style: a white horse, a sea serpent, a longship, a war hammer, a spear, a drinking horn, a mug of foaming ale and a rune medallion.

The WILD symbol is a golden tree, and the SCATTER is a snarling grey wolf.

In our captures the golden tree wild landed on reels 2 and 4, where it joined partial lines of serpents, spears and ale mugs into paying ways. The wolf scatters appeared on reels 1, 2 and 4 in the spin that opened the bonus.

How the Bet Works

The stake is set as a bet per way. A bet per way of 3.00 gave a total bet of 90.00, and 1.00 gave 30.00 – the total is thirty times the per-way figure.

The Battle of Ragnarok

Three scatter wolves trigger the Battle of Ragnarok. First the player chooses one of four Asgardians, each with a different balance of spins and wild multipliers:

• a young green-clad hero: 25 free spins, wild multipliers x2;
• a red-bearded warrior with a hammer: 20 free spins, x2 and x3;
• a white-bearded elder with a spear: 15 free spins, x3 and x5;

The round then plays out on four grids at once, one for each Asgardian. The grids join the battle at different points – in our round one entered after 4 spins, another after 9 and another after 14 – and each god collects points, with a banner announcing who is leading.

In our 25-spin round the green-clad hero led with 7 points and had won 1,035 on his own grid by spin 16. The total for the round stood at 2,325 on the 30.00 bet – 77.5x – with nine spins still to play.

Our round began with the counter at “Playing free spin 2 of 25”, matching the 25 spins of the green-clad hero we picked. At that point only one grid was live; the other three showed the number of spins left before they joined the fight, and the banner at the top counted down to our god’s entry.

Choosing Your God

The four choices trade quantity for power. The green-clad hero gives the most spins but the smallest multiplier, while the silver-haired warrior gives only ten spins but every wild multiplier is x5. The two in the middle mix the two approaches, with 20 spins at x2 or x3 and 15 spins at x3 or x5.

Because every god also appears on its own grid in the battle, the choice decides which grid the player is backing rather than the only grid that pays. In our round the chosen hero’s own panel showed a separate WIN and COLLECTED counter next to the other three, so it was easy to follow who was ahead.

Buy Feature

The bonus can be bought directly: 7,200 at a 90.00 bet and 2,400 at 30.00 – 80x the bet in both cases. SlotCatalog also mentions a Hera symbol that can disrupt progress in the bonus; we did not see it in our captures.
