Sun of Egypt 4: Hold and Win by Booongo is a new slot machine release featuring a popular Ancient Egyptian theme, where features provide you a well-known type of excitement despite the not-so original theme.

They came up with a setup that revolves around the usual 5×3 reels, using 25 active lines for each round. It’s an online slot that promises top payouts of 1,000x, via its fixed jackpots. I’m not a big fan of the slot’s top payouts, especially if we look at the regular combinations which will form. There are rewards of up to 10x total stake that can be paid per line, with the most being offered for a spin being 250x (£15,000). It gets a little bit better once you reach the bonus game since the biggest fixed jackpot offered there is worth 1,000x the round’s stake, or up to £60,000.

First, let’s check out the Wild logo, a substitute that is capable of helping out with any combination’s formation. You just need one landing next to regular matching symbols, and together they will create a combo if the minimum requirements are met. Wilds do not replace any of the feature symbols, and they don’t pay anything directly either.

A Pot of Gold, with an image of Horus on the side, is the game’s scatter symbol. Theme & Design

Sun of Egypt is not a very original release, as the Ancient Egypt culture was done to death in slot machines. It’s a bit more gold-focused here, in part because of the connection to the Sun, but there are still Royal symbols to be found, next to the usual lotus flowers, Eye of Ra, Ankh, Cleopatra, pots of gold, logos and Sun icons.

While I did enjoy the quality of the actual design, the symbols that we are shown are much too common.

Conclusion

Sun of Egypt delivers a range of decent features, but it’s only in a bonus game that you can get past the regular 250x payouts, and get closer to a 1,000x jackpot.
