Skull Fiesta Overview

Skull Fiesta is a 5-reel, 4-row payline game released through the Hacksaw Gaming network, set in what the rulebook calls a supernatural graveyard where glowing skulls, cursed tombstones and restless spirits guard hidden fortunes. It runs 14 paylines, a 96.26% RTP calculated over ten billion simulated rounds, medium volatility and a maximum win of 10,000x the bet, available in all game modes.

Everything here revolves around one symbol – the RIP tombstone – and the chain of effects it can set off. The figures below come from the in-game rulebook and demo play at €2.00 and €5.00.

Theme and Graphics

The setting is a cemetery decorated for the Day of the Dead: stone archways wrapped in marigolds and roses, bunting overhead, and lit candles standing on the ground either side of the reels. The palette is violet, magenta and gold, and the whole scene turns hot red once the bonus round starts.

The symbols are the party itself – a guitar, a pair of maracas, a painted drum, and two calavera figures in formal dress – over card letters painted in the sugar-skull style, each in its own colour. The wild is a grinning skull in a wide-brimmed sombrero.

The RIP Fortune Meter

Below the reels sits the RIP Fortune Meter, a row of small tombstones each carrying one of the game’s paying symbols. It is the key to the whole design, and it is worth understanding before you spin.

The RIP symbol can land anywhere on the reels, and only one can appear per spin. When it does, the RIP Fortune feature triggers regardless of whether the spin produced a line win – line wins are simply paid first.

The feature then activates a random number of positions, between 1 and 10, working from left to right along the meter. Every activated symbol transforms its matches on the reels into Coin symbols carrying a bet multiplier. The RIP symbol itself always stays active, which guarantees at least one matching symbol on the grid.

Coin Values

All coins are cash prizes paid as multiples of the bet, and the rulebook lists every value: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 20x, 50x and 100x.

In the captured session the boards carried mostly single-digit coins – 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x – with the running total shown beside the grid climbing from 6x to 16x and then to 34x with a 2x enhancement attached. That last board paid 210.00 on a €5.00 bet.

Seven Fortune Effects

Here is where the game separates itself. Once all the coin values are revealed, the triggering RIP symbol reveals one of seven multiplier-enhancing effects:

REPLICATE doubles every revealed coin value, then sums and awards them. REAWAKEN awards the current total, then reactivates the same RIP symbols with new random coin values and awards those too. REINFEST selects between one and all of the revealed coins and enhances each with a random x2, x3, x4 or x5 multiplier.

Then come the combinations. Replicate + Reinfest doubles everything and then applies the random multipliers on top. Replicate + Reawaken doubles and awards, then does the whole thing again with fresh values. Reinfest + Reawaken enhances and awards, then reactivates with new values and enhances again using the same logic.

And at the top, Replicate + Reinfest + Reawaken: every coin doubled, then multiplied by up to x5, summed and awarded – and then the entire sequence repeated on a fresh set of values. That is the route to the 10,000x ceiling, and it explains why a game with such a modest pay table can reach it.

The Eternal Rest Bonus

Landing 3, 4 or 5 FS Scatter symbols awards 10 free spins and activates 3, 4 or 5 RIP symbols respectively on the meter, filling from the lowest position upward. So the trigger does not change the number of spins – it changes how much of the meter is already live when you start.

Two rules make the round compound. The meter is persistent and does not reset between free spins. And every RIP symbol that lands during the round activates at least one more inactive position and awards 2 extra free spins, progressing upward from the highest active position.

Once every position is active, no further symbols can be activated – but by then the whole meter is transforming symbols into coins on every spin. Scatters do not appear inside the bonus, so the round extends only through RIP symbols.

Wilds, Scatters and the Pay Table

The wild substitutes for everything in the pay table and appears on all reels, one per reel at most. Five of them pay 40.00 at a €2.00 bet – 20x – which makes it the best symbol in the game. Scatters follow the same one-per-reel rule.

The rest of the pay table is deliberately flat. At a €5.00 bet the 10, J, Q, K and A all return 5.00 for five – exactly the stake – while the guitar and maracas pay 25.00, the drum and the calavera lady 50.00, and the gentleman in the top hat 75.00, or 15x.

Ordinary line play, in other words, treads water. The game is built so that the tombstone is the only thing that matters.

Buying In

Hacksaw publishes a return figure for each purchase route: 96.29% for BonusHunt FeatureSpins, 96.31% for RIP Fortune FeatureSpins – with the caveat that scatter symbols cannot land in that mode – and 96.3% for the Eternal Rest Bonus itself.
