Prince of Riches Overview

Prince of Riches is a Robin Hood slot from Ruby Play, released on 6 August 2023 according to SlotCatalog. It runs on 5 reels, but the number of rows changes between spins, and with it the number of paylines: SlotCatalog describes a range of 3 to 7 rows and 30 to 70 lines. The same source lists an RTP of 96.53%, medium volatility, a hit frequency of 25.8% and a top win of 1,099x the bet, with stakes from 0.10 to 200. Theme and Graphics

The reels stand in a green forest clearing, framed in carved wood, with a “Wanted” poster pinned to a tree on the left. Four coloured banners above the reels show the jackpots, and the Prince of Riches logo sits in the middle. The premium symbols are Robin Hood in his green hat, a red-haired archer and a bearded minstrel with a lute, followed by treasure chests, pots of gold coins, feathered hats and a shield with three arrows. The low symbols are A, K, Q, J and 10.

Variable Reels

A small sign on the left of the reels shows how many lines are active. Our screenshots catch the game with 30 lines on three rows, 40 lines on four rows and 60 lines on six rows, so the grid clearly grows and shrinks from one spin to the next. Tall stacks of the same symbol are common: in the second screenshot Robin Hood fills whole columns on two reels, and the 60-line spin paid 320 at a 50 bet, with line 9 alone paying 5.

The fourth screenshot shows the smallest layout. With only three rows and 30 lines, Robin Hood is stacked on reels 2 and 3 between columns of feathered hats on reels 1 and 5, and the spin pays 130, of which line 1 alone is worth 10. The last screenshot is another three-row spin in which pots of gold stack on reels 1 and 4 and the minstrel fills most of reel 2. Changing the row count this way means the same bet can cover very different numbers of lines, so wins of very different sizes appear even at a fixed stake of 50.

Bets and Controls

The bet panel under the reels shows the total stake between minus and plus buttons, with Turbo and Auto buttons next to the large green spin button. The balance and the name of the game are printed along the bottom edge. The demo starts with play money, so you can change the stake and try the different layouts without risking anything.

In the first screenshot three gold coins with values of 375, 250 and 125 land on the last reel, and the win box shows 750, which is exactly their sum.
