How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Buffalo Sevens Overview

Buffalo Sevens is a classic fruit slot released under the Foxi (Fazi) brand on 3 June 2024; SlotCatalog lists the studio behind it as TipTop. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 10 paylines, and it adds one idea to the fruit machine formula: a herd of buffalo that can fill the whole screen for the game’s top prize.

SlotCatalog lists an RTP of 96% and a maximum win of 5,000x the bet, and the banner above the reels repeats that figure. No volatility rating is published, so we leave that field open rather than guess. The numbers below come from our own demo session, played at a bet of $15.

A Prairie at Sunset

The reels stand in front of a prairie at sunset, with low hills, pine trees and grazing buffalo in the orange evening light. The symbols are the familiar fruit machine set – sevens, watermelons, grapes, plums, oranges, lemons and cherries – drawn in bright, glossy colours inside dark frames.

The buffalo is the odd one out, and the logo above the reels makes the point: a row of buffalo heads runs towards a gold “5.000x” sign. Numbered markers on both sides of the grid show where the ten lines start and end, and each lights up in its own colour when its line pays.

The Paytable at $15

The paytable shows cash values for the current bet. At $15 the red seven pays $3,750 for five, $750 for four and $300 for three – five sevens on a line are worth 250x the stake. The watermelon and the grapes pay $600, $150 and $60, and the plum and the orange $300, $75 and $30.

The lemon and the cherries pay $300 for five, $60 for four and $15 for three. The buffalo opens the table, and it is the only symbol that pays for two of a kind.

The Buffalo

On a line the buffalo pays $750 for five, $375 for four, $150 for three and $15 for two – 50x the stake for a full line. Its real value is on the whole screen: the paytable states that “15 Buffalo symbols on the screen pay 5,000x total bet”, which is $75,000 at our bet.

That prize is the published maximum win, so here the top feature is the game’s ceiling. The paytable shows no wild or scatter, which keeps the whole game about lines of matching symbols and the chance of a screen full of buffalo.

The Table in Multiples of the Bet

Converted into multiples of the stake, the table is easy to remember. Five sevens pay 250x, four 50x and three 20x. Five watermelons or grapes pay 40x, five plums or oranges 20x, and five lemons or cherries also 20x, although those two drop to just 1x for three.

The buffalo sits between the sevens and the fruits on a line – 50x for five, 25x for four, 10x for three and 1x for two – and far above everything else on the full screen, where fifteen of them pay 5,000x. The cash values scale with the stake, so the same ratios hold at any bet.

Ten Lines

The paylines screen shows straight rows, V shapes and zigzags across the 5x3 grid. Wins pay from left to right on adjacent reels, and several lines can pay on the same spin, which is how the smaller fruits add up. A column of the same fruit stacked on the first reels can start two or three lines at once, and the game adds all of them together into a single win shown in the box below the reels.

What the Session Did

Most of our wins matched the table line by line. Three sevens climbing diagonally across the first three reels paid $300 (20x), and a stack of buffalo – three across the top row and more below them – also paid $300, two lines at $150 each.

The fruits filled the gaps. Two lines of three grapes paid $120, lemons across several lines paid $105, and cherries paid $30. The best fruit result came from plums: they filled most of the grid and paid $480 (32x) across several lines at once.

Over the session the balance moved from $4,415 at the first capture to $2,810 at the last, the kind of slow drift you expect from a game whose biggest ordinary line pays 250x and whose top prize needs every position on the screen.

The Numbers to Keep in Mind

A 96% return is close to the market average. The 5,000x ceiling is high for a ten-line fruit slot, but it depends on a single outcome – fifteen buffalo at once – while the paylines top out at 250x for five sevens.

A separate game, Buffalo Sevens Jackpot, adds jackpots and raises the banner to 10,000x; the two are easy to confuse in a casino lobby.

The Studio and Its Herd

Buffalo Sevens comes from the TipTop studio, whose games our partner casinos list under the Foxi name, and the free demo above runs on Fazi’s own promotional server. TipTop has built a small family around the same animal: Buffalo Dice swaps the fruits for dice with the same 5,000x screen-full prize, and the Jackpot edition adds a jackpot feature on top.

In each of them the buffalo, not the seven, is the symbol to watch, because fifteen of them on the screen decide the top prize.

Who Should Play It

Buffalo Sevens suits players who like a plain fruit machine with one clear dream prize. There is nothing to learn beyond the paytable, the sevens and fruits pay often enough to keep the base game moving, and every buffalo that lands is a small step towards the full screen.

Players who want free spins, bonus rounds or wild features will not find them in the paytable. The game is built for short sessions where each spin is settled at once, and the numbered line markers make it easy to check every win against the table.
