A Castle In The Snow

The reels stand between two stone gargoyles perched on the frame, a lit gothic window on the right and a distant castle on a crag to the left, all under a full moon. Snow lies on the mountains behind. Lanterns hang from the frame on both sides.

The cast is a full vampire ensemble rather than a single count: a vampire lord in a red-lined cloak with long dark hair, a female vampire in purple, a hunter in a wide-brimmed hat carrying a crossbow, and a bald vampire in evening dress. A, K, Q, J and 10 fill the rest in carved red and blue stone.

All four characters pay for a pair, which almost no five-reel slot does. It is a small amount – one or two euros against a ten euro stake – but on twenty lines those pairs land constantly, and they are the reason a session here feels steady rather than sparse.

In multiples, five vampire lords are worth 35x the bet and five aces 5x. The four characters occupy a properly graded range from 35x down to 17.5x, which is more differentiation than most modern paytables bother with – and the royals split into two tiers rather than sharing one.

The Wild Is A Pair Of Stakes

The wild is a red banner carrying two crossed wooden stakes with the word WILD beneath it, and it behaves in two different ways depending on how many land.

As single tiles it scatters across the grid like any other symbol – one of our spins carried four of them in separate positions and returned €98.00, nearly ten times the stake. When several stack on the same reel, though, the whole column turns into a single unbroken red panel, and the crossed stakes sit in the middle of it.

That full-reel form is what produces the bigger results. A spin with the entire second reel wild, aces and a vampire lord around it, paid €72.00.

A SCATTER symbol appears on the outer reels, dimmed when it is not part of a win. Zeus Play has not printed its value on the main paytable page, so we have not guessed at one – but its position on the first and fifth reels is the conventional arrangement for a free spins trigger.

Gold coins also tumble down the grid on winning spins, spilling out from beneath the symbols.
