Safari Coins Overview

Safari Coins is a three-reel, five-row Evoplay game with a rule that reframes everything else about it: there are no regular wins in the main game at all. No paylines, no symbol combinations, no paytable in the usual sense. Every symbol on the reels is a special symbol, and every value they carry is paid only inside the Bonus Game.

The main game exists purely to assemble that bonus. Three symbols of any type landing on the middle row is all it takes to trigger it, which is why a game with no base-game payouts whatsoever still carries a Low volatility rating.

The setting is an African savanna at sunset – a burnt-orange sky, a lone acacia in silhouette. The reels sit in a carved wooden frame, and above the jackpot plates a golden lion's head glows like an idol. When the bonus runs, the grid fills with gold coins and the frame lights up from within.

The Symbols

Six special symbols do all the work. The ordinary Bonus coin carries a random value of 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x the bet. The Sticky Bonus is more valuable at 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x or 9x, and it behaves differently: once it appears in the main game it stays on the reels until the Bonus Game starts. The Jackpot Bonus holds one of the Mini, Mega or Super jackpots.

Then the three that carry no value of their own. The Lion collects: each time it lands during the bonus it takes the values and jackpots from every symbol on the reels, then stays put. The Mystery symbol turns into any other except a Sticky Bonus, and the Mystery Jackpot is guaranteed to hold one of the three jackpots. Both open one at a time at the end of the round, so the bonus finishes with a reveal rather than a total.

One trap is worth flagging. The rules state plainly that playing a spin at a different bet removes the Sticky Bonus symbols currently on the reels. Adjusting your stake mid-session wipes whatever you have accumulated.

Lion's Roar

Lion's Roar can fire at random in either the main game or the bonus. On its first activation, random reel positions receive multipliers of x2 to x15. If it triggers in the main game, three random symbols then land on the middle row and the Bonus Game begins immediately.

On later activations the multipliers can appear in new positions and existing ones can increase – and the demo catches exactly that. One screenshot shows the grid tagged X3, X2, X3 and X2; a moment later the same grid reads X2, X4, X3 and X3. At the finish every multiplier is applied to the value sitting in its own position, so placement is everything: a x15 on an empty square is worth nothing, a x4 under a jackpot coin is worth a great deal.

The Bonus Game and the Jackpots

The round starts with three spins and every new symbol resets the counter. Everything that lands stays, and the bonus runs until the spins are gone or all 15 positions are filled; the values are then added and paid as one total.

Four fixed jackpots exist, and only here: Grand 1,000x, Super 50x, Mega 20x and Mini 10x the bet. At the 50.00 stake the plates read 50,000, 2,500, 1,000 and 500. Jackpot Bonus symbols award Mini, Mega and Super directly – but the Grand, as usual for this studio, has no symbol. Collect 15 symbols of any type and it is yours.

Since the maximum win is also 1,000x, filling the grid is not the best outcome available – it is the only one that reaches the top.
