A Throne Room and a Smiling Coin

The reels stand between two red columns on a gold frame, with velvet curtains drawn back on a bright sky and heaps of coins piled at the bottom corners of the screen.

Above the frame sits the king himself: a yellow smiley face in an ermine robe and crown, holding a goblet and a diamond sceptre. He reacts to the reels – arms raised on a good spin, beaming on a big one – and he is also the wild.

The symbols are a jewelled crown, a goblet of wine, a diamond sceptre, a ruby ring, a scroll and quill and red roses.

The Paytable, Per Line

The rules screen is short and states its own unit: All values are multiplied by bet per line. The crown leads at 100x, the scroll pays 4x and the roses 2x.

At €2.00 a line that makes a crown line worth €200.00 – and that is exactly what the captures show when three crowns land. The arithmetic checks out to the cent.

The other rules fit on two lines: symbols pay left to right on selected paylines, and only the highest win is paid per line.

What the Reels Paid

The ordinary results are small. A diagonal of goblets paid €20.00 – 2x the total bet, or 10x per line – and a top row of goblets paid the same.

A grid of ruby rings with a wild in the middle returned €48.00, which is 4.8x.

The crowns are where it changes. One spin lit two crown lines and a row of sceptres at once: €200.00, €200.00 and €40.00, totalling €440.00 – 44x the stake.

The best came with the king helping. Two wilds, top left and bottom right, with crowns filling the rest of the grid: €600.00, or 60x. On nine positions, that is about as full as the board gets.

Royal Spin: Three Prices

The buy menu is a scroll with three cards on it, all headed ROYAL SPIN, at €552.00, €692.00 and €1,780.00.

What you are buying is drawn rather than described: the first card shows one wild, the second two and the third three. The stake sits at the foot of the menu with plus and minus keys, so the prices move with it.

Converted, those are 55x, 69x and 178x the €10.00 bet – and the spacing is the interesting part. Going from one wild to two costs 25% more; going from two to three costs 157% more.

That pricing tells you where the value sits. The game is not charging for wilds by the unit; it is charging for the third one, which on a three-by-three grid is the one that can complete every line at once.

For comparison, the best spin we captured – two wilds and a grid of crowns – paid 60x, against 69x for the two-wild ticket. Close enough to be sobering.

A 93.43% Return

The figure needs stating plainly: 93.43% is low, and among the lowest in any of these batches. It is paired with a high volatility rating, which on a three-reel game with five lines is an unusual combination.

The balance across the captures runs €9,950.00, 9,960.00, 9,970.00, 10,570.00, €12,388.00 and back to €10,656.00 – up about 2,400 and then down 1,700 again.

The published ceiling is 3,000x. A full grid of crowns would be five lines at 100x per line – 500x the total bet – so reaching the cap needs a multiplier on top of a perfect board, not just a perfect board.

Who Should Play It

Coin King Beto is for players who want a small, cheerful three-reel game with a proper buy menu. The throne-room artwork is charming, the king above the reels is better animated than most mascots, and the paytable is short enough to check against your own wins – which, as the crown line shows, it survives.

The reservations are the 93.43% return, which is the lowest number on this page and hard to argue away, and a buy menu whose top ticket costs 178x on a game where our best spin paid 60x.
