Burning Phoenix Overview

Burning Phoenix is an Asian-themed slot from Amigo Gaming, released on 29 August 2023. It plays on a 5x3 grid with 25 paylines, and Amigo Gaming rates it medium-high volatility with a top multiplier of x1,400 – the game itself confirms the figure with a “Win up to x1400” banner. Bets run from 0.25 to 250. The two features are a Pin Win bonus with four jackpots and free games that remove the low symbols from the reels.

Symbols and Setting

The reels stand in a red and gold temple hall, framed by carved wooden panels. The high symbols are a lucky cat, a golden koi, gold ingots and a red seven hung on coins; the low symbols are the letters A, K, Q and J in jade and gold. The fiery phoenix is the wild, and it arrives as a tall bird that can cover a whole reel. It is marked with the word WILD across its wings, and in our screenshots it appeared on the second, third and fourth reels, never on the first.

The Four Jackpots

Above the reels sit four plaques with the jackpots, shown in coins at our 1,000 bet:

The Pin Win Bonus

The bonus starts when enough fireballs land on the reels. Each fireball carries a coin value; the ones we saw ranged from 1,000 to 15,000 at the 1,000 bet, so from 1x to 15x. In our trigger spin six of them landed at once – 1,000, 3,000, 7,000, 3,000, 12,000 and 2,000 – worth 28,000 together, or 28x the bet.

The game then announced “You won the Pin Win bonus!” with the key rule on the same screen: “15x = Ultra Jackpot”. In other words, filling all fifteen positions with fireballs wins the 1,000x top prize.

During the bonus the reels turn into a board of red squares. The fireballs stay in place, new ones fill the empty spots, and two treasure chests – one blue, one red – appear among them. Amigo Gaming describes these as mystery chests that can lead to the jackpots. When our screenshot was taken, the counter under the board read 28,400, with one fireball worth 15,000 already added to the original six.

What Our Base Game Showed

We played the demo at 1,000 coins per spin, and the line counter under the reels tells the story of each win:

• three lucky cats on one line paid 600 – 0.6x;
• two lines with the phoenix wild paid 1,200;
• a phoenix covering the middle reels produced 11 lines for 2,200 and 12 lines for 7,600;
• two phoenix wilds together paid 3,800 on 13 lines.

The pattern is clear: the base game pays mostly through the wild. A single phoenix on the middle reels connects many of the 25 lines at once, so the wins come in clusters rather than single lines.

Free Games

Three scatters trigger the free games – the game’s ticker reads “trigger 8 free games”. The twist is written in the same place: during free games, only the highest-paying symbols are on the reels. Without the letters, every line that pays is made of cats, koi, ingots and sevens, and every phoenix wild connects premium symbols. Amigo Gaming lists additional free spins and a free spins multiplier among the features.

Where the 1,400x Comes From

The two numbers on screen are worth comparing. The Ultra jackpot alone is 1,000x, and the fireballs we saw carried up to 15x each. The published ceiling of 1,400x therefore sits only a little above the Ultra – the top outcome is essentially a full board. Our six-fireball trigger was already worth 28x, more than the Min jackpot, before the bonus had even started.

What the Bet Changes

All four jackpots are fixed multiples of the stake, so they scale with your bet. At the 0.25 minimum the Ultra is worth 250 and the Min 6.25; at the 250 maximum the Ultra becomes 250,000. The fireball values follow the same rule, which is why they are best read as multiples: a 3,000 fireball on a 1,000 bet is a 3x prize at any stake.
