Jelly has once again created a visually pleasing animal installment in the Gigablox series, and it’s definitely a big step up from their previous Buffalo Blox Gigablox. Beasty Blox Gigablox is admittedly a catchy title, and the North American prairie has been replaced by a jungle filled with more or less anthropomorphic predators. They don’t seem too shy about their preferred source of nutrients either, with human skulls on sticks in the backdrop.

The base game doesn’t come with too much extra outside of the usual Gigablox feature, and you thus get up to 4×4 sized symbols per spin. Wilds can help out as well, and the big highlight is the bonus round. It comes with Super Staxx symbols that can also land as Gigablox, and wild multipliers are added to the overall win multiplier per spin. The 5,000x potential is almost twice what you get in Jelly’s previous effort, and Beasty Blox Gigablox is definitely a step in the right direction.

The premium animal symbols pay between 3 and 6 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and wins start from the leftmost reel towards the right. Skull Wilds can land on reels 1 and 6 only, and this symbol steps in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve wins.

Both pay symbols and Super Staxx symbols can land as Gigablox symbols in sizes up to 4×4, and they count as a cluster of matching 1×1 symbols if you win. Reels merge to produce Gigablox on every spin in all stages of the game.

You need 5+ diamond scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and scatters cannot land as Gigablox just to be clear. It’s a recurring problem that these kinds of games rely too much on the Gigablox feature to carry the base game, and that is also the case in Beasty Blox Gigablox. A good idea would’ve been to implement the Super Staxx symbols also in the base game, as Gigablox symbols alone seldom makes a huge dent. Combined with the extra win ways from the Super Staxx symbols they can, however, but perhaps we’ll see that next time.

Beasty Blox Gigablox is what it is, however, and what you get is Gigablox and wilds in the base game. The bonus round comes with a wild multiplier system where wilds build the overall global win multiplier. This is, of course, appreciated compared to just regular multiplier wilds, but the Super Staxx symbols seemed hard to get. They can do serious damage when they appear though, but the max win is capped at 5,000x your stake. Beasty Blox Gigablox is visually pleasing, and a bit more tweaking can turn this recipe into a winner.
