Wicked Wanda Overview

Wicked Wanda is a Halloween slot from Mancala Gaming, released on 25 October 2023. It uses a diamond-shaped 3-4-5-4-3 grid with 720 ways to win, an RTP of 95% and a maximum win of 4,032x the stake. No volatility rating is published.

The reels stand inside a dark stone crypt. Twisted blue hands reach in from both sides, candles burn along the bottom edge, and a potion flask above the first reel holds the drop counter that drives the whole game.

The Grid and the Symbols

The narrow outer reels and the tall middle reel give the grid its lozenge shape: three positions on reels 1 and 5, four on reels 2 and 4, and five in the middle. With 720 ways, any matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left form a win.

The low symbols are tall, glowing card letters – A, K, Q and J – in red, teal, violet and green. The higher symbols are Halloween creatures: a green slime blob, a purple spider and a red, bug-eyed winged critter. The Wild can stand in for the regular symbols throughout the base game.

Collecting Drops

The flask above the reels shows a counter out of 100 – 31/100 and 24/100 in two of our base-game screenshots. According to the game rules, drops are collected during the base game, and 100 drops unlock 10 free spins. The counter is visible on every spin, so you always know how far the bonus is.

Free Spins and the Coffin Wild

Once the flask is full the game announces “You won 10 Free Spins!”. During the round the counter changes to a target of 20 – our screenshots show 4/20 – and every 20 drops collected add 10 more free spins.

The special element of the round is the red coffin. It can land on the middle reel as a Special Wild, filling the whole reel with a tall WILD. When it does, multipliers are added to random symbols on the grid – our screenshot shows x2 markers on three positions. Any line win that uses a multiplied symbol is multiplied.

What the Bonus Paid

The coffin wild opened on the middle reel with the free spins counter at 6, and the spin paid 600.00 – 2.4x the bet – with the x2 symbols in the winning lines. The round’s winnings meter already stood at 650.

The Drop Counter in Numbers

The two counters make the bonus pace easy to judge. In the base game the target is 100 drops for 10 spins; during the round the target falls to 20 drops for 10 more. That makes retriggers five times easier to reach than the original trigger, and it explains how a long round can build towards the 4,032x ceiling: each extra block of 10 spins is another set of chances for the coffin wild to land on the middle reel.

Theme and Presentation

A glowing witch’s face fills the screen when the bonus begins, and the crypt, the cobwebs and the candles give the game a clear autumn setting. The glowing card letters keep the grid readable despite the dark background.

Why the Middle Reel Matters

The coffin wild only lands on reel 3, and that is also the tallest reel with five positions. A full wild in the centre of a 720-ways grid connects both sides of the diamond at once, so every symbol that appears on reels 1 and 2 can join a win that continues onto reels 4 and 5. Add the multipliers the coffin places on random symbols, and a single coffin spin can pay more than the rest of the round together – which is exactly what our 600.00 spin showed.

The two routes into the bonus lead to the same 10 spins with the Special Wild. Collecting is free but slow – our base game sat at 24 and 31 drops out of 100 – while buying costs 46x the bet up front. Our 5,000.00 Big Win came to 20x the bet, less than half the buy price, which shows that a bought round needs more than one good coffin spin to pay for itself. The published maximum of 4,032x is the ceiling that a long retriggered round can reach.
