Thor Turbo Power

Thor Turbo Power Overview

Thor Turbo Power is a Norse-mythology slot from Platipus, released on 21 July 2023. The god of thunder stands guard over a classic 5x3 grid with 10 fixed paylines, flanked by two stone guardian pillars with glowing blue orbs. SlotCatalog lists a 95% RTP, high volatility and a maximum win of 30,100x the bet. Stakes run from 0.10 to 10 per line group, and the demo we played used a total bet of €100 across the 10 lines.

The Symbols

The low-paying symbols are four carved runestones in green, red, blue and pink. Above them come the Viking weapons and treasures: a dagger, a war hammer, a drinking horn and a winged helmet. The most important symbol is Thor himself, who acts as the wild. When he lands, he fills the whole reel with his figure and the word WILD on a golden plate at the bottom.

Expanding Thor Wilds

Every Thor on the reels expands to cover all three positions, and our screenshots show how quickly this adds up. With a single expanded Thor on the middle reel, the spin paid €330 – 3.3x the bet – by completing several short lines of weapons and runes at once. With two Thor reels side by side on reels 2 and 3, a spin paid €880, which is 8.8x the bet.

Ordinary wins are much smaller. One spin showed three red runes on line 1, and the message bar read “Line 1 won €50”; the whole spin paid €150 with a second rune line added. The expanding wild is what turns the game from quiet to dramatic.

Reading the Numbers

Put side by side, the base-game wins in our session tell a clear story. A single rune line paid half the bet, a spin with two short lines paid 1.5x, one expanded Thor paid 3.3x and two expanded Thors paid 8.8x. Each extra Thor reel roughly multiplies the result rather than adding to it, because an expanded reel sits on every one of the 10 lines at once. On a 10-line game that is the main source of value: the paytable of weapons and runes is modest, and almost every bigger result in our screenshots involved at least one full Thor reel.

SlotCatalog also lists a nudge feature and stacked symbols. The stacked Thor reels are visible in every larger win we captured; the nudge itself does not appear in our screenshots, so we cannot describe exactly when it triggers.

Free Spins

The bonus opens with a Norse shield announcing 10 Free Spins, with a Start button below. In our round the win counter already stood at €440 when the free spins began.

During free spins each reel gets its own panel above it. Our screenshot shows the first reel at x3 +2 free spins, the third at x2 +2 free spins and the fifth at x3 +2 free spins, with a separate counter on the right showing the remaining spins – 6 at that moment. When Thor expands on a reel with a multiplier, that multiplier is applied, and the +2 free spins marker means the same event can extend the round.

The result in our round: two expanded Thors, on reels 1 and 3, paid €1,800 in a single spin – 18x the bet – while the total win for the feature had reached €1,640 before that spin was added.

The Big Win

The largest win we captured was a BIG WIN of €2,960 – 29.6x the bet – with two expanded Thor reels and a shower of gold coins over the screen. That is roughly one hundredth of the published 30,100x maximum, which shows how much room the game leaves above its ordinary big wins.

Feature Buy

A Feature Buy button sits on the right of the reels in the base game. Our screenshots do not show the price, so we cannot quote it, but the button lets you skip straight to the free spins with their reel multipliers.

Graphics and Sound

The reels sit on warm parchment-coloured panels inside a golden frame with the “Thor Turbo Power” logo in blue and gold. Behind them a dark mountain landscape stretches away under a cold sky, and the two stone guardians on either side glow blue from their chests. The Thor artwork is detailed: a bearded warrior in a winged helmet, hands resting on his hammer.

Who It Is For

Thor Turbo Power is for players who like a simple 10-line layout with one big idea. Most spins pay little, but an expanded Thor – and even more so two or three of them – changes the picture completely, and the reel multipliers in free spins push the ceiling higher still. With high volatility and a 95% RTP, it is a game for patient players. All six casinos we checked carry it.
