Space Wins Overview

Space Wins is a five-reel, three-row slot from Red Rake Gaming with 20 paylines and an RTP of 95.3%. It was released on 28 November 2024.

Red Rake has not published a maximum win or a volatility rating for this game, and none appears on the slotcatalog listing either, so neither figure is given here.

The official bet range runs from 0.20 to 35 per spin. All figures below were read from demo play at a 10.00 euro bet.

The slotcatalog attribute list gives the full feature set as expanding symbols, free spins, multipliers, scatter symbols, sticky wilds, ordinary wilds and wilds with multipliers. Not all of them showed themselves in our session, and we note below where that is the case, rather than describing features we did not see.

The layout is a standard 5x3 grid with 20 fixed lines, which keeps the reading of each spin simple even when several wilds are involved.

A Frontier Town in Space

The setting is a sun-bleached space port built from weathered wooden and metal towers, somewhere between a science-fiction city and a desert outpost. The reels sit in a dark metal frame in the middle, with a separate row of locked panels running along the top.

The cast is borrowed from classic space adventure films. A dark-haired space pilot is the wild, a green-skinned alien is the bonus symbol, and the paying symbols include a golden android, a green crystal, a helmet with glowing lights, a small starfighter and a red blaster.

The lower tier is made of stylised A, K, Q, J and 10 symbols in a stone-carved, sci-fi lettering.

The slotcatalog theme tags describe it well: aliens, robots, crystals and planets, with a war-film edge. The mood is closer to a western set in space than to clean science fiction, and the dusty palette makes the brightly coloured symbols stand out.

The Paytable

At the 10.00 bet the android is the best regular symbol, paying 50.00 for five (5x the bet). The low royals pay only a few euros for a full line.

The table is compact, which means the size of most wins depends on how many lines connect at once and on the wild multipliers, not on the symbols themselves.

Lines pay left to right, only the highest win per line is paid, and the pilot wild substitutes for every symbol except the bonus alien.

At the maximum bet of 35 the android’s five-of-a-kind would be worth 175, which again underlines how modest the line values are. The rules also show which combinations count: symbols must connect from the leftmost reel, and a gap in the chain breaks the line.

The game uses scatter symbols as well, according to the slotcatalog feature list, but in our session only the alien bonus symbol behaved in that way.

Wilds with Multipliers

The wild is where the game gets interesting. The pilot does not always land as a plain substitute: we saw him carrying a x3 tag, and on another spin with a small multiplier badge on the second reel.

The x3 wild turned a line of green Q symbols into 54.00 on the 10.00 bet (5.4x), and another wild-assisted combination paid 75.00 (7.5x), the best single line win we captured.

The slotcatalog feature list also names sticky wilds and expanding symbols. On one spin two pilot wilds sat side by side in the middle of the reels and paid 57.50 across several lines of crystals.

Taken together, our wild-assisted results ran from 3.9x to 7.5x the bet. None of them came close to the size of a free spins round, but they arrived regularly enough to keep the balance moving between bonuses.

The Space Reel

Above the main reels runs a separate row of five locked panels, which the game’s paytable calls the Space Reel. On most spins it stays dark, but a blue chevron symbol sometimes lands there above the first or fourth reel.

Our screenshots do not show what happens when that row fills, and we have not guessed. It is a distinctive part of the layout, though, and worth watching in the demo.

To the right of the reels sit two round red buttons. One carries the letters RR, and above it a small counter showed different numbers on different spins – 8, 9, 19 and 23 in our captures. The game gives no explanation of it on the screens we have, so we mention it only as part of the layout.

Free Spins

Three alien bonus symbols trigger the free spins. In our round they landed on the second, third and fifth reels and awarded 10 free spins.

During the round the total climbed to 177.65 on the 10.00 bet (17.8x). The biggest single win inside it was 40.00, when two stacked pilot wilds on the second reel connected a column of starfighters on several lines at once.

The round uses the same 20 lines as the base game, so its value comes from the wilds rather than from an extra mechanic.

The trigger spin itself paid nothing on the lines: the three aliens landed with a pilot wild beside them but no matching symbols to connect. The balance stood at 227.50 when the round began, and a counter on the right tracked the spins from 10/10 downwards.

At 17.8x the bet, our round was solid rather than spectacular – a fair illustration of a game whose features add up steadily rather than exploding.

Other Wins We Saw

Most results in our session sat between 2x and 8x the bet: 39.00 from three pilot wilds connecting a set of starfighters, 54.00 from the x3 wild, 57.50 from two adjacent wilds and 75.00 as the best line win.

Several spins also showed bright cross symbols landing on the reels. The game does not explain them on the screens we captured, so we have left them undescribed.

Who Should Play It

Space Wins is a good fit for players who like a classic 20-line format with a strong visual theme and wilds that do more than substitute. The multiplier wilds give ordinary spins a chance to reach 5x–8x.
