Lotus Warrior Overview

Lotus Warrior is a Japanese-themed video slot built by Bulletproof Games and distributed through Yggdrasil’s partner platform, released on 26 September 2023. A female samurai in a red and white robe stands beside the reels, in front of a temple courtyard with cherry blossom trees. The game runs on a 5x4 grid with 25 paylines. SlotCatalog lists a 96% RTP (the game is offered in several RTP versions), medium-high volatility, a maximum win of 2,542x the stake and bets from 0.20 to 100 per spin.

The Symbols

The highest-paying symbol is the Lotus Warrior herself, and she can land stacked across a whole reel. Below her come a set of weapons and ornaments drawn in gold frames: a folding war fan, a shuriken, a kusarigama (a sickle on a chain), a bow with arrows and a pair of golden orbs. The royals A, K, Q and J cover the lower wins.

The WILD is a glowing sky lantern, and the BONUS symbol is a golden lotus flower. In our screenshots a wild on the third reel lit up the whole reel – the expanding behaviour SlotCatalog lists among the features.

What Our Base Game Showed

Two base-game wins are visible in the screenshots:

  • With a stake of 100, a stack of Lotus Warriors on the first three reels paid 600.00 – six times the stake.
  • With the Golden Bet active (125 per spin), a line of As completed by the lantern wild paid 100.00.

Triggering the Bonus

The lotus flowers are what you are waiting for. One of our screenshots shows five BONUS lotuses lined up across the second row, one on every reel, which opens the free spins. The game has three different free spins modes, and the Lucky Dip option described below picks one of them at random.

Three Modes, Three Weapons

The buy menu gives each free spins mode its own weapon, and the names follow the samurai theme from the gentlest to the fiercest. Sakura Spins is shown with the war fan, Shinobi Spins with the chain sickle and Samurai Spins with the shuriken, while the Lucky Dip card carries the bow and arrows. The prices rise in the same order – 80x, 130x and 250x – which is a good hint about how much each mode is expected to pay: Samurai Spins, with its collected wilds and growing multiplier, is the top of the range.

Samurai Spins

The most interesting mode is Samurai Spins, and the game’s own help screen explains it in four sentences: “Each wild landing on a free spin adds a wild to the super spin wilds pot. A winning spin adds to the multiplier. All the wilds in the super spin wild pot are added back to the reels for the final super spin.”

Two counters above the reels track this. Super Spin Wilds counts the wilds collected so far, and Super Spin Multiplier shows the multiplier that will apply to the final spin. In our round, with one free spin remaining, the counters stood at 7 wilds and x4. By the time the SUPER SPIN banner appeared they had grown to 9 wilds and x5.

The Super Spin

The final spin is where the round pays. All nine collected lanterns were placed back on the reels, filling most of reels two to four, and the round’s winnings jumped from €0.78 before the super spin to €17.78 after it, at a stake of €0.20. The super spin alone was worth €17.00 – 85 times the stake – and one of its wins, €11.20, was shown on the reels during the spin.

That is the logic of Samurai Spins in one example: the ordinary free spins pay little, but every wild and every win feeds the final spin, and the multiplier turns a reel full of wilds into a large payout.

Why Nine Wilds Matter

The grid has 20 positions, and the nine lanterns from our pot covered almost half of it. On a 25-line game that means most lines pass through at least one wild, so even the low royals can complete wins across several lines at once – and every one of them is then multiplied by the x5 from the counter. The same round with only a handful of collected wilds and a low multiplier would pay far less, which is why the collection phase of the free spins decides the size of the final result.

Retrigger the Super Spin

After the super spin the game offers a Retrigger Super Spin wheel. It is a simple win-or-lose gamble: a small green WIN segment at the top and a much larger red LOSE area. A win gives you another super spin; a loss ends the feature. The size of the green segment makes it clear that this is a long shot.

Buy a Bonus

The Buy a Bonus menu shows all three modes and a random option, each with its own price. At a base stake of €0.20:

  • Sakura Spins: 80x – €16.00
  • Shinobi Spins: 130x – €26.00
  • Samurai Spins: 250x – €50.00
  • Lucky Dip: 100x – €20.00, which awards one of the three features at random

The Lucky Dip is priced between Sakura and Shinobi, so on average it is a way to get a chance at Samurai Spins without paying the full 250x.

Golden Bet

The Golden Bet panel on the right raises the stake by a quarter – from 100 to 125 in our screenshots – and in return the game announces “Feature Frequency Doubled!”. It is the familiar bet-boost trade: 25% more per spin for twice the chance of reaching the bonus.

The Numbers in Context

The 2,542x ceiling is modest for a medium-high volatility game, and the bonus prices put it in perspective: Samurai Spins costs 250x, so the maximum win is roughly ten times the price of the most expensive feature. Our €17.00 super spin, worth 85x the stake, would have returned about a third of that price. At the maximum stake of 100, the 2,542x cap equals 254,200.

From Bulletproof Games

Bulletproof Games releases its titles through Yggdrasil, which is why the demo on this page runs on Yggdrasil’s server and the game is listed under Yggdrasil here. The studio’s Caribbean Crush follows the same route.

Graphics and Setting

The reels are framed by red lacquered pillars with golden dragon ornaments, and the background changes between a teal base game and a dark red free spins screen. The warrior on the right side of the screen is animated, the lanterns glow when they land, and the symbols are finished in gold. The Samurai Spins logo sits in the bottom right corner during the feature.

Who It Is For

Lotus Warrior suits players who like a build-up bonus: the free spins in Samurai Spins are mostly about collecting wilds and multipliers, and the payout comes in one big final spin. With medium-high volatility, a 2,542x ceiling, four buy options and a Golden Bet, there is plenty of control over how fast you chase it.

You can try this game on SunClub Online Casino. There’s a unique casino bonus offer of 400% up to £1500 for a limited time.

Lotus Warrior was not available at any of our six partner casinos when we checked on 25 September 2026, so the casino above is a general recommendation. The free demo on this page runs on Yggdrasil’s own demo server.
